The Gig [Finished]

Vic lifts his head, eyes wide. No way, he thinks, pale. They'll turn on me. They'll send me to a whorehouse or something.

But... this is all my fault.

"Can't there... isn't there some other way?" he asks, his voice hoarse.

[accalia]

"Well.... Not that I can see. Short of running and never stopping." Tony admits sadly "But... I wasn't actually planning on telling Giovanni about just you... And... Well i got him to agree to meet me alone, so it will only be him that knows...."

[yamikuronue]

"You don't have to..." he begins, gesturing helplessly. That's not going to get the message across, get it together, he scolds himself, taking a deep breath to try again.

"This is my mess. I appreciate the help, but you don't have to out yourself too."

[accalia]

Tony winces slightly as the car hits a pothole "Well, I may have to. You're not going to be allowed in the meeting, not until he's satisfied with my proof. I'm not sure even a photo would be proof for him, they can be faked and he knows it. Not that I'd ask for that sort of photo from you, too easy for someone to use for blackmail."

[yamikuronue]

"We can get the family album from home." he says, quietly. "There's pictures of me as a girl in it, before... everything."

[accalia]

"hmm....  He might accept that, it's hard to fake that many photos that quickly." Tony muses "I don't think it will work, but it makes a better Plan A than mine.... You okay with this? I mean we can run if you prefer. There has to be a limit to his reach, and as a trained cop i can get work almost anywhere I want."

[yamikuronue]

Vic hangs his head. "Would it really help?" he asks, softly. If it was just me in this, maybe...

[accalia]

"Well, I guess it's like the choice between being smashed against this rock or that cliff." Tony admits, he's plainly not happy about this.

[yamikuronue]

It's a choice between jumping off the cliff, or asking him to smash us both into the rocks, corrects Vic, silently.

"I'll do it," he says, finally. "Running'll just make a bigger mess."

[accalia]

Tony nods. Kid's brave. Good. He'll need that.

"I'm not sure it won't be a mess either way... It all depends on if he'll accept things."

[yamikuronue]

Vic nods. "I know. It's..." He hesitates, mulling over his words for a few moments.

When he speaks, his tone is soft, but serious: "I wanted to thank you for doing all this." Just in case.

[accalia]

"Anything for you." Tony comments before cursing and braking sharply. "Crap, that was the turning i needed to take."

[yamikuronue]

Vic blushes hotly. "Don't say stuff like that," he mumbles. "I mean it. Even if this all... goes badly, thank you."

[accalia]

Tony's blushing too, but he manages to smile as he pulls a u-turn. 'You're welcome, and I was serious."

[yamikuronue]

"Don't say, anything. Don't get yourself killed over me." he says, looking down at his hands.
