Judgement doesn't say anything. it doesn't need to. it's opinion on the matter's pretty clear without words. So fix this.

[yamikuronue]

I aim to.

"Tell me what happened." He says, his voice firm with resolve. "What creature? What did it look like? Where did it stand?"

[accalia]

Elaine pauses in her sobbing "It looked like you! You summoned a shadow to you, it wrapped itself around you, grabbed my James and sunk through the floor taking you both with it, and now i find that it gave you back and kept my James! You can't fix this so go away and leave me alone!"

[yamikuronue]

"I will fix this, Elaine. On my life." That's a hell of a vow to make in a magic shop -- and yet, he doesn't seem to be joking.

[accalia]

"I don't care what you promise, You caused this. Your promise to fix it means nothing to me! Get out!"

[yamikuronue]

"Can't." he says, calmly, moving toward the counter. Let's see, the boy was here... then she grabbed him...

[accalia]

As Miles steps closer he gets within arms reach of Elaine and she takes a swing at him. Her form is terrible and only manages to crack her knuckles and spin her a quarter turn around on the stool she's sitting on. Miles barely feels the impact of Elaine's fist.

[yamikuronue]

Miles grins at her. "Feel better?" he asks, continuing retracing the scene. She was over there, so...

[accalia]

"No. I won't feel better until you go away and don't come back!" Elane snaps, trying another punch and whiffing this one entirely.

[yamikuronue]

"Good point. Having your son back will do wonders for your temper. Still, a good solid punch can do a lot to steady a body." Toward the back room? He moves for the doorway. She said it seemed to be me. So it sunk into the floor probably before she got there. So... hereish, probably? Judging by where they were when I lost sight of them.

You see anything, Judgement? He asks, casually. He tries picturing the weapon as a magnifying glass, to reveal supernatural influences.

[accalia]

"I have no eyes." Judgement quips dryly "But... There's blood here where yon fair maiden was slammed into the shelving, probably where she got her broken arm and cracked ribs. And of course there's that corrupted patch of floor where you exited the shop last."

[yamikuronue]

Is there a connection there? Some way I can follow after?

[accalia]

"Why would you follow yourself? Besides the connection, if it ever existed, would be long faded past detectability, let alone usability by now."

[yamikuronue]

She says the shadow that took me took James too. So where I was, he must be.

[accalia]

"That's not what she said. But regardless there is no path here you could follow, even if you had the strength to tear through the wards of this place, which you don't."
