CalamityJade

Morden is something of a universe unifier of sorts. In this variation, I went with him reading a rather old text that granted a 'form of power' without being very specific. You might want to realize that Morden, while being polite, doesn't shake hands.

yamikuronue

He;s also Vi's favorite beau, hence the snark

accalia

hmm..... now that is interesting.

i may have to get some old characters out of the closet..... i could bring Dragonfly.... but he's a bit of a mary sue, and rather like echo in a lot of ways.... probably not worth it.... but the original Accalia character could make an apperance (under a pseudonym)

CalamityJade

Oh, as far as his comment about royalty...he basically doesn't want to risk the chance of being a kidnapper. ^_^

ooh, should we talk about first characters? Everyone's first character is a sue, it's like a rule of the universe

accalia

Dragonfly was my first. i nerfed the hell out of him over the years. he's mostly playable now, but i still prefer other characters.

yamikuronue

My first was a character named Aldrea Persephone Borealis Dragontamer. She was a runaway princess who had a pet dragon and went around solving problems and fighting monsters across multiple fictional worlds. She wore leather and fought with a sword and rode a horse and had long brown hair in a braid which never misbehaved like mine did https://what.thedailywtf.com/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji-one/static/images/1f606.png" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-parsed" data-set-id="emoji-one" data-emoji-id="laughing" alt="XD" title="XD" />

She's also Lance's mum.

accalia

Lord DragonFly of the Fallen Oak was mine.

he was.... a very very very odd man. Servant to someone called "Yamiyuki" for reasons that no one asked about......

lived in a castle that was only locally euclidean, you could never be sure where any door would lead (mostly so we could be lazy with area arrangement, but turned into an in joke.

very very very much later it turned out that the castle was sentient and was rearranging rooms to mess with people.

yamikuronue

We had a mansion that did that... and then it burned down, but then someone's character like... turned into the mansion, somehow. It was very strange. We all promptly ignored that plot device >.>

CalamityJade

Then there was the fact that my first character...actually was Morden. That's...huh

Huh.

yamikuronue

Huh.. you're right, I keep misremembering it as Gamma as well. But we played Fantasy before we did sci-fi and you made Gamma sci-fi.

yamikuronue

We're having an offline debate right now about whether Morden is better or worse than Kaelas, my roommate's first character. Kaelas is the child of the two protagonists from a fantasy series, named after a third character; his mother is the Queen of Darkness canon-sue with all the powers at such a high level they had to invent a new rank for her power level, and his father is the tortured male protagonist who just wants to love her!!!! but must suffer for his love.

He has all the powers as well, and he universe-hops, so he typically outranks the canonical most powerful mage in any setting because his setting was high-powered to begin with.

I think Kaelas is the bigger sue https://what.thedailywtf.com/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji-one/static/images/1f606.png" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-parsed" data-set-id="emoji-one" data-emoji-id="laughing" alt="XD" title="XD" />

yamikuronue

Oh yeah, we should probably agree on werewolf powers...

I'm going with secondary "wolf" personality, otherwise Lance wouldn't have killed his family, but a skilled werewolf will be able to wrest control and talk to his wolf side, whereas Lance loses control when he shifts forms (and sometimes in his human form, though the first thing the wolf does is shift). I'm thinking hybrid form is possible, but hard to maintain unless you can keep calm. Forced transformation on the full moon, of course, and weakness to silver. No forced alignment change, but the wolf-mind doesn't think like a human would. And fast healing.

accalia

that's about what i had. https://what.thedailywtf.com/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji-one/static/images/1f604.png" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-parsed" data-set-id="emoji-one" data-emoji-id="smile" alt="" title="smile" />

so we're in agreement there.
