Under Darkness [AU]

[Tethras Clan]

"You frosted over?" Zevran asks with surprise.

Andy shakes his head. "Nope. Go ahead Carver, show off a bit," he urges his... friend?

[Carver Amell]

He blushes faintly, holding up his hand. "Don't freak," he warns him, before his hand mutates into a furred, clawed hand. Despite the warning, Isabela jumps, but doesn't comment. 

[Tethras Clan]

Andy leans a bit to study it. "Hunter, come here a minute?" he calls softly.

[Carver Amell]

Hunter trots over happily, wagging his tail, though he gives Carver a bit of space. 

[Tethras Clan]

Andy kneels down next to Hunter and offers a smile. "Mind if I see your paw boy?" he asks softly, gesturing at the limb.

[Carver Amell]

Hunter glances at Carver, who orders him, "Shake."

Hunter lifts his paw, offering it to Andy. Carver smirks. "I didn't teach him that, he just gets me."

[Tethras Clan]

"Perhaps another part of things," Andy says with a grin as he inspects the paw, glancing over at Carver's claw a few times. "Looks pretty close," he finally offers, letting Hunter's paw go. "Your claws are longer and more... spread out? Kind of like it's still half-human. But they're not pointly like a cat's claws at least."

[Carver Amell]

"Good," he grumbles. "Cats are irritating. Yowling all hours of the night."

[Tethras Clan]

"Since when do you have claws?" Zevran asks, sounding rather confused. "I thought you were... anti-magic," he says after checking himself.

[Carver Amell]

"I uh. I don't know. This is news to me too, as of last night."

[Tethras Clan]

"Rather, ah, interesting moment of reveal," Andy comments. "I finally managed to get a lucky hit in and he moved to parry my stick before I could get in a second and instead sliced the thing in twain." He chuckles. "Hells of a surprise for us both."

[Carver Amell]

"I, uh, may have done it once or twice before, now that I'm thinking of it," he says slowly. "But I figured it was Nyra being Nyra."

[Tethras Clan]

"Nyra can be very Nyra, yes, but generally it doesn't give you controlled, partial werewolf-ism," Zevran says dryly.

[Carver Amell]

"No, but spontaneous magic effects have been known to happen, and I was drunk," he admits. 

[Tethras Clan]

"That's true enough," Andy chimes in. "And drunk- or bored- casters have been known to play a prank or just fuck up a spell to very bizarre outcomes even more often."

Zevran dips his head in acknowledgement of the point. "Fair enough. How hard are they to use?"
