"I shan't leave your side," Zevran promises. "And Silence is here too," he adds, glancing to the corner where the mabari is watching alertly.

"Right. Alright. A sedative, then. Wake me if we're boarded."
"Our mistakes make us who we are"

Zevran nods and fetches the tonic from the nightstand where he'd out it earlier. Tucking her in, he sits on the bed next to her to stand vigil.

The following morning, a few hours past sunrise, Vigile can hear soft footsteps, then a soft knock on the door to their borrowed cabin. From the weight, pace and scent, it's a youth or smaller sized humanoid carrying food (apples, fried meat and cooked grains).

Most cats have trouble with doorknobs. Not Vigile. Turns out, he can fly, allowing him to reach the doorknob with ease; he clamps down with both paws, expertly manipulating it until the door opens.

It had been locked before; the youth must be trustworthy, then, if he has the key to unlock the door. Vigile remains in midair, looking over who is entering.

Jessica Alton

A slim, human-ish looking female with pale brown hair starts, then stares at him for a moment. "Oh! I- um. Right, Seeker men- umm, sorry. I have breakfast? For you and, umm, the lady?" she stammers a little, her posture declaring her shy rather than afraid. She's likely still growing, her limbs longer than they should be though not to an unsettling or unhealthy degree. In her arms, she's carrying a covered tray where the food scents are coming from.  And now that the door is out of the way, Vigile is also getting another scent, coming from the girl- a herbivore's musk. Maybe she has a pet? Or she's not human.

GamesMaster

"Breakfast would be delightful. Please, do come in. The Lady has not yet roused." Vigile flies backward, lowering himself to the ground as he stretches.

Jessica Alton

"Alright," she says with mild relief. "Where do you want me to set this up?" she asks politely.

GamesMaster

"The desk will suffice. Thank you," he replies, moving to jump back onto the bed beside the sleeping half-drow.

Jessica Alton

The girl nods, then gets to work, setting the tray down on the edge, then lifting the lid to check to make sure nothing spilled or the like. Porridge with fruit, check, fried pork hash, check and canteen of tea, check. Looks fine! "Umm, do... do you need anything?" she asks, darting a glance at the talking, flying cat.

GamesMaster

"That smells delightful," he says cheerfully. "If you could inquire, it is easier for me to use a litter box than a chamber pot? Also, I believe both the lady and myself would benefit from a good hairbrush," he adds. "I understand that long hair is much like fur: difficult to keep tidy."

Jessica Alton

The young woman had been nodding agreeably until that last, when she gets a queer look for just a second. "Ah, yes... I mean, I can try and find that? I don't think we... would a box with some regular sand work? Umm, sir... cat?"

GamesMaster

"Ah, forgive my manners. I am known as His-paws-are-silent-but-his-growl-is-fierce-in-defense-of-the-righteous, but you may call me Vigile or Vigilant if you prefer. A box with sand would be perfect, thank you."

Jessica Alton

"Vigile is very pretty," she says with a faint smile. "I'm Jessica. But I normally go by Jessi." She dips into a curtsy, the gesture smooth and practiced, though it lacks the flourishes one would pick up in a city's high society. Rural upper class, most like. "Shall I wake the lady so she can wash and break her fast?"

GamesMaster

"Ah, yes, that may be a good idea. But please, do not be alarmed if she behaves... erratically. I am not entirely certain what frame of mind she will be in when she wakes." As Jessi approaches, he leaps up onto her shoulder, intending to protect her should Coquette become unexpectedly violent.
