Kyle's eyes go pained, lost and a little... ashamed? before he shakes his head. "Healed as well as it can be," he says stoutly, then smiles. "Blast my arm, Cindy, you're here and- alive! I had thought- when- I thought-"

[Coquette Blacquin]

"I--"

Tears spring to her eyes, and she nods, taking a step back. "I am wi--"

"Lady Olocaryn!" scolds the talking cat, as he stalks toward her -- hovering half a foot over the heads of the assembled populace to do so. "It is hardly safe for you to suddenly vanish in a crowd. If you must run off, please allow me to rest on your shoulder before you do so. Oh, greetings," he says, stretching his front paws forward in a small feline bow. 

[Smith Family]

"Cat."

[Coquette Blacquin]

"Pavitra, actually. I am--"

"This is Vigile," says Cindy, blushing faintly. "He is with me. I, so much has happened..."

[Smith Family]

"Cat talks," Kyle says numbly, eyes blank and staring.

[GamesMaster]

"I am a Pavitra, sworn in the service of Vangal. My name is His-paws-are-silent-but-his-growl-is-fierce-in-defense-of-the-righteous."

Kyle takes a deep breath. "I... see? Like... so you're a... a cat aasimar?" he asks tentatively, eyes still locked on Vigile. 

[GamesMaster]

"Were I to have kittens with a mortal cat, those kittens would be aasimar, yes," he says, not unkindly. 

[Smith Family]

"Alright," Kyle says slowly, grabbing at the concept as being close enough to something he knows. "Right. And you're..." He frowns suddenly, stare during hard. "Why are you following my daughter?" he growls.

[GamesMaster]

Vig blinks, taken aback. "Lady Olocaryn is under my protection," he growls suddenly. "Who are you?"

[Coquette Blacquin]

"Please," says Cindy gently. "Vig is a friend. Vigile, this is my... father, Kyle Smith. He's one of the-- they're the ones I was heading to Glaley to rescue."

[Smith Family]

Kyle's glare softens, but the frown remains. "Then why he is calling you by that monster's name?" he demands.

[Coquette Blacquin]

"I-- it is my name," she says quietly, looking at her feet. "I am Lady Coquette Olocaryn, in truth. There is... there is so much I should tell you, so much..."

[Smith Family]

"Bah. Legally maybe. But your true name is Cindy Smith," Kyle says firmly. "And ta the hells with anyone that says otherwise. Pardon my language," he adds, casting a guilty look around.

[Coquette Blacquin]

"S--smith?" she whispers, looking up at him through tears. "Not... not Black, but Smith? Truly?"
