Blood from Stone [AU]

[Tethras Clan]

"Lord zi'Tethras is at Crystalwing- has been since last night." Aveline does not sound like she likes that fact, not at all. 

[Bethany]

"What? Why? Is he okay?"

[Tethras Clan]

Aveline's lips press tightly together. After a few seconds, she nods. "He is... unharmed. He is... attempting to assist in the investigation, as is his right as a Light directly harmed by a crime." I loathe that law.

[Carver Amell]

"He's making an ass out of himself," snaps Carver. "and ignoring the real problems. Aveline's plenty good enough to solve this without him lurking and peeking over her shoulder."

[Bethany]

Beth leans back slightly, about to snap at him for being an ass but.. "Carver, what's wrong?"

[Carver Amell]

"It's mom," he says curtly. "They tried to reach Dad but he hasn't been answering. He's done nothing while she suffered. Now I have to clean it up." A pause. "What poison?"

[Tethras Clan]

"That's the investigation at Crystalwing," Aveline says shortly. "How did you found out about it?"

[Bethany]

"Don- he- he came back this- Don spent the night, then when he left this afternoon, he came back a few hours later. He said there was a poisoning attempt last night, against us, but that- that it had missed or something and now there's maybe a purge happening and-"

[Marian Hawke]

"Meaning the catfolk are involved somehow--"

[Carver Amell]

"How did Don find out? This sort of thing is usually top secret."

[Bethany]

Beth stares at him blankly. "Because catcats are involved. And he is a Light. So..."

[Tethras Clan]

"Not helped by the fact that half of the servers, the ones unaffected, scattered at the first sight of a guard," Aveline adds with a tight voice.

[Carver Amell]

"So he's running around spreading a panic while Aveline is still trying to get to the bottom of this," snaps Carver. "Great. Is today cursed? Is that what's happening?"

[Bethany]

Beth's eyes narrow and she growls softly. "Carver... lashing out won't help. Please."

[Carver Amell]

"Great. Wonderful. I've got to get back to Summerhill."
