[Bethany]

At the door, Beth presses her fist against her mouth, trying not to cry out or make any noise.

[Leandra Hawke ne Amell]

Sagging back against the wall, Leandra closes her eyes. "Good boy. Oh my darling boy. You have to- You have to hep Marian keep you all safe. Listen to Beth, she..." She falters, sobbing once.

[Carver Amell]

"Mother," says Carver, his voice low in volume but firm. "I brought someone to see you. Is that okay?"

[Leandra Hawke ne Amell]

Leandra opens her eyes to study Carver. "I... okay," she whispers, looking lost. "If- you'll be here?"

[Carver Amell]

"Of course. I'll be right here. Bethany wanted to come see you herself, so you'd know she's safe." He gently strokes her cheek, then looks up to the door, to signal Beth that it's okay to enter.

[Leandra Hawke ne Amell]

"Beth? Beth is..?" Leandra's face shows her shock- and more, guilt and shame.

[Bethany]

"Yes, I'm here." Beth licks her lips as she slowly approaches. Gods. She... how did Carver do this? How does he... I mean, she probably isn't normally this bad but..."I'm here and safe..." She hesitates, not sure what to call her. Leandra is too... but... "Mother," she finally says, though the word is stiff and a little cold in her mouth.

[Carver Amell]

"She was worried because you're sick," says Carver softly. "We're all going to do whatever we can to get you free, mother. I'm going to keep my whole family safe."

[Leandra Hawke ne Amell]

Leandra barely seems to hear Carver, her eyes locked on Beth as she moves to stand behind Carver. "Bethie.... you... I..."

[Bethany]

"I know. Let all that go for now, okay? Just... just focus on resting. We can... talk about... past stuff later, when we're all better, alright?" Her hand rests on Carver's shoulder, grip tight as she clings to him for support.

[Carver Amell]

Carver nods. "We're all safe," he assures her. "You just hold onto that and keep fighting. When this is all over we can try to be a family again. A new, stronger family. So you keep fighting and hold on. And don't believe anything about us being in danger. Okay? Can you trust me?"

[Leandra Hawke ne Amell]

Leandra presses her lips together, eyes darting between the twins. "I- Yes. I- he promised. Can't touch you. Any of you. So you're safe. I- I did it right this time. I'm so sorry. All my fault. Should have been me. My fault. Hurt so much, she's so broken, Carver, you have to find her. Find Marian and help her. All my fault, all my fault."

[Carver Amell]

"I know where Marian is," he says quietly. "She's safe too."

[Bethany]

There's a series of small taps on Carver's shoulder, then a drop of water runs down his collar. Everything I thought I wanted to hear her say and yet... Gods. "We- we just spoke to her yesterday actually. And- and I spent all afternoon," cuddling in bed, " reading and gossiping with her. She's good. Had a rough breakup a couple months ago but she's dealing. Already going on dates with a nice merikos elf. Not sure if it's serious but it makes her happy."

Their mother stares at then carefully, desperate for them to be telling the truth. "R-R-Really? She- she's okay? He- he kept the deal," she says in a rush, body going limp with relief.
