"A bit... reactive for me," Varric agrees. "Always felt more like... cleaning up after a bad thing happened, when I would rather prevent it. Kato... eh. You lie a lot but you've said you're trying to stop and you don't seem to like that you lie so much. Plus Seeks would be heartbroken if you embraced Lies as your path and I know you care for nem, even if you clash at times. Vangal... you're not about chivalry, thanks the gods, but the rest could work and pretty well at that. Zanon... you have ambition, though it remains to be seen if that's your core or just your age and circumstances. Bit of a temper too, and a strange form of pride."

"I've never been anything," she says quietly. "I've never thought I could be anything. If I pick Zanon... it'd be saying, to hell with that. I want to be the best. I want to be so strong nobody will ever touch me or mine again."

[Varric]

"Certainly heard far worse reasons for changing gods," or worshipping an Dark deity for that matter. "Just make sure you pick a goal that's worth the costs for achieving. If you want to protect you and yours, make sure you don't cross a line that will take you from them."

She nods. "I don't think... I don't think Helene would be happy to hear this."

[Varric]

"Ne is... very devout," Varric allows. "I think... I think ne would accept it, if you explained why. I would say ne would be less happy not hearing about it."

"I could pretend," she begins, hesitantly.

"Lie."

"Sometimes the lie is better," she snaps.

"Sure- but... Helene is pretty much never the person to lie to. Pretty much the worst sin for nem."

Marian groans. "She's going to give me that look."

"Ne might, yes. But... hells, Seeks might be able to help."

"Ne, right, sorry," she mutters. "How do you mean, help?"

"Well, how much do you already know about Zanon?" Varric shrugs. "I mean, I know the basics myself, sure, but how much of the actual text do you know?"
