The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

Go Down

Jassinth

Jass hops back, free hand coming up to his cheek as he hisses softly. "Wha-" Eyes flick down and note blood, causing a slight frown. "Weapon training, not full sparing," he says firmly. "No magic or you won't learn the blade." Shame too, because he's learning well, all things considered. Fifteen is really late to be learning... well, just about everything really, poor soul.

Carver Amell

"Shit, did I-- how did I--?" he asks, reaching forward to offer Jass a hand -- and spies the fur, the claws, sprouting from his own right hand.

He shrieks, a girlish, terrified shriek, as the hand reverts instantly. "wh-whatwasthat?!" he stammers, paling.

Jassinth

"...did you not..?" Jass pauses, studying Carver. "I gather you did not do that on purpose then?"

Carver Amell

He shakes his head. "I don't have magic!"

Jassinth

"Well, claws are not a generally found on humans so... evidently you do," Jass says dryly. "I think perhaps we should halt for the day and speak with my mother. She may be able to explain what occurred."

Carver Amell

Carver nods, raking a hand through his hair. "Y-yeah. I  should-- do you think I'm a druid or something?"

Jassinth

"Shapeshifting is a common druid skill," Jass muses. "And their connection to nature can be... buried by iron or steel. Touching them too much, I mean, which I suspect was common to a city dweller. And..." He hums softly. "Actually, this might be recent. I mean, I am just shooting wildly into the brush, but you were just touched very directly by the power of a nature god. Perhaps it... woke something up inside you?"

Carver Amell

"Maybe," says Carver, all excitement. "Let's go find out!"

Jassinth

Jass grins at Carver, pleased the other boy was feeling upbeat again. It would be worth my time just to see him sweating and shirtless, but he is much better company when he is not sullen or brooding. "Let's indeed," he agrees with a laugh.

They're not far from Jaina's house, and so they soon find themselves... forced into washing up and sitting down to a heaping bowl of salad, fresh bread and sticks with bits of... brown and white plant impaled on them. They seem seasoned and roasted, but cold. Jass doesn't argue that hard, mind you, not about to turn down an free meal from his mother.

"And while you eat, I'll wash your shirts- Jass, you have a bit of blood on yours from your lip, so off it goes," Jaina says firmly, holding out her hand. She'd already treated their wounds, a spell for Jass's cheek to prevent scarring and some bruise balm for the hit on Carver's torso.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Carver Amell

Neither is Carver; he may be only recently physically male, but he still eats like a teenage boy now that he's not bound by ladylike conduct.

"And then my hands turned into claws!" he says, eagerly, around a mouthful of food.

"Just the left hand," Jass says with a grin, waggling his eyebrow. "Which is good, or you might cut up your sword." And that would truly a shame, given how fine the rest of you is.

NPCs

"Jass, behave," his mother says automatically, though her attention is mostly on Carver. "Claws?"

Carver Amell

Carver glances at him blankly. "No, I'd dropped my sword...? Um, right! It was fur and claws, like, brown-black fur, with thick black claws."

Jassinth

Oh he is so very... innocent, Jass thinks with fondness. He opens his mouth to tease some more, then yelps when his mother swats him with his shirt.
