She makes another dismissive noise. "You're welcome to try," she mentions.

[Haliel Lightsong]

The aasimar tilts her head. "I can, yes. Will you?"

"You think I want to be poor?" she growls. "You think I whore for my health?"

[Haliel Lightsong]

Well, you did sort of say that... "I think that changing your life is terrifying. That it's hard and painful. And that does not account for the additional issue of withdraw, which is supposed to be decidedly unpleasant. So leaving that life behind will be difficult, even if you want better. I will try very hard to help but I cannot make you want to change."

"Fuck you," she growls. "If I could snap my fingers and be rich I would. Must be easy being pretty and perfect. You walk into any brothel an' you'd be raking in gold easy. You could wait any pub, hell, armor like that, yer' probably an adventurer. So fuck you for judging me doin' what I have to to get by!"

"I am- I do not mean to judge you, nor make you feel judged. I am sorry for giving offense. I am aware I have been blessed with... many things in many ways." Lightsong's smile wavers a little but she shoulders on. "If you wish to continue your life as it is, I will wish you the best and bid you farewell. I hope that you will not. That I can help you be happier and safer."

"Well, what can you do? What skills or knowledge do you have? You seem able bodied and keen of mind, so there are more than a few jobs that you can do." Hmm... Actually...

"Nothin'," she spits. "Whoring. Basic labor. Be sure to tell 'em I'm a cat, they'll love that part."

Do... do people particular like cats in Nyra? "Have you lived in Nyra your own life? In Coal? Know the area and people well?"

"Yeah," she growls.

Lightsong beams at her. "Perfect then. As I said, I am very, very new to Nyra. And clearly do not... understand a lot of the local culture. I could use a guide who does. I can provide room and board in addition to..." It's two silver a day for a local guide at Draslina, but they do guided tours and do not get room and board... On the other hand, they often lead groups of a half dozen at a time. "And a gold a week. Board would include access to baths and a laundry room as well."
