The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

[Shisou]

"Nothing, it-- well, bookmark, but that's just because every name means something in Tengu --- but, it's just, it's my name. And um, since I moved here, nobody... nobody's ever spoken it but Carbonne. Everyone calls me by my title, Soushi-Hime, so..."

She keeps not looking at Beth, blushing faintly. 

[Bethany]

Beth's eyes widen. "Oh! I... thank you," she murmurs, fighting a blush of her own. "I... I suppose..." She bites her lip, not sure if she should share her name and possibly lead Soushi- Shiori- into trouble.

[Shisou]

"I mean, it's only fair, because I know yours," she points out, biting her lower lip as she finishes. 

[Bethany]

"What? Oh, you... know who we are. Umm. Right, because... famous. Ish." Bethany winces, looking at the ground. Far side of Bedrock. Good. But... "How- how do we get into Lower City?"

[Shisou]

She's never been? That makes -- wait it does not make sense! "How did you go when you came looking for me? Before, I mean."

[Bethany]

"Using a magical disguise item while not carrying someone," Beth says dryly, then winces. "Wait, you... you recognized me?"

[Shisou]

"Not right away," she admits. "Not until you used a similar disguise to sneak out last week."

[Bethany]

And now the wince turns into a glare. "You've been watching me?" she hisses.

[Shisou]

So much for friendship, she thinks, with a wince. "Well, not you, specifically, more... your household? Look, I got this anonymous tip that your sister was in danger but they didn't go into any detail other than, keep an eye on the family. So I did. I hoped I could figure out what was going on before... well... this happened, but on the bright side, I was nearby when this did happen because of it, so...?"

[Bethany]

Anonym- "Really? From- sorry, anonymous means you don't know, duh, sorry. I just- someone else knows?" A thought occurs and she blurts out, "was it a paladin? A really gorgeous aasimar with platinum-gold hair and sapphire gem eyes?"

[Shisou]

She shakes her head. "No, sorry." She heistates, then adds, "A merikos aasimar, actually."

[Bethany]

A pause. "...was her hair platinum-gold? But her eyes a warm brown? And when wa- you said at least a week. Damn."

[Shisou]

"It's been weeks, and I haven't seen her again, no, sorry. The dwarf she was with a few times, but not when I was in a position to speak with him privately."

[Bethany]

Dwarf. Like the one that... "Thank you," Bethany whispers with gratitude. "That must be Bells. She... she was- she trained Hunter, Car's mabari. J- she was vanished but..." She swallows, trying to focus.

[Shisou]

"Vanished," says Shiori flatly. "Why does nobody tell me these things? I can help."
