The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene takes a deep breath, then another.

[Marian Hawke]

"What is going on?" Hisses Marian. "What did they do to her?!"

[Shisou]

"Him," says Shisou, watching. "I think... I think your S-Seeker is a h-him like I am a... A.... A girl."

[Varric]

"Or could be even more like Alydra than they already are," Varric suggests, clearly referring to the dwarven preference of using neutral genders and addresses for non-mortals, particularly deities, unless a clear preference is known. Alydra, being feminine neutral at most, is almost consistently referred to as neutral.

[Marian Hawke]

"That's not an answer," protests Marian.

[Varric]

"I'm a little more worried about Seeker," Varric snaps, not looking towards Marian. He takes a deep breath. "Sorry. Just... focused right now. And you already know the answer." 

Torture in the guise of medical correction.

[Marian Hawke]

"Is this... is this normal?" she asks, swallowing hard. Am I going to turn into this as I get older?

[Varric]

Varric shrugs a little. "For Seeker, maybe, maybe not. They have... a severe case of ACP. If you haven't had an episode like this already, you probably won't. Pretty sure this sort of thing is like most any other emotion or urge- the harder you deny and repress without dealing with the reasons behind it, the worse it becomes when it finally rips its way out. That... center... teaches you only to repress. Constantly."

[Marian Hawke]

Is that so bad? Opening up seems dangerous. Marian doesn't say anything, just takes a deep breath, trying not to freak Helene out further.

[Helene Dakesh]

"Quiet hands," murmurs Helene. Their body still rocks, but it's growing calmer, smaller motions. "Be a good girl," they add, and one hand twitches, almost like it wants to curl into a fist.

[Varric]

"It's alright, Seeker," Varric murmurs softly. "If you want to go around the side of a tree and cast a privacy spell, that's just fine."

[Helene Dakesh]

"It's alright," repeats Helene, with a glance toward Marian. "It's alright."

[Varric]

"...I'm upset but calming down," Varric says slowly, almost curiously.

[Helene Dakesh]

"Calming down," agrees Helene.

[Varric]

Kind of a lesser variation on going nonverbal. Unable to come up with their own words, so quoting related speech. "Good. Do you want drink, food, blanket, book, other?"
