The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

[Varric]

"Did he ever try?" Varric asks curiously. "Sorry. I mean, did Jadan ever sit down with both of you, Bethany and Carol, at the same time to talk over issues? Or did he always have talks one at at time and simply tell each of you what the other said or felt?"

[Haliel Lightsong]

Lightsong frowns, cocking her head to the side as she moves a touch closer to Carol, her arm just brushing the younger woman's. "That is very inefficient. Even with the best of attentions and training, meaning and intent can be easily shifted or distorted that way."

[Carver Amell]

Carol shakes her head. "He didn't respond to Beth's taunts. It's not as though either of us were-- it's not as though either of us were meant to be alone with him," she amends. "We snuck off a few times but it wasn't for anything like that. Why wasn't there a chaperone in the room, Beth?"

[Bethany]

We weren't alone, but he didn't know I knew that. "...because I wanted him to be honest. That's why I reminded you come come later- I wanted him to think he could get away with being cruel and manipulative, so you would walk in and see it." She swallows, shuddering. "I... I didn't expect him to... to be... I didn't think he would be so... bold. I don't know why he didn't leave or summon a servant to stand attendance but... I suspect it's for the same reason really. So he could... act out his real nature without being caught."

[Carver Amell]

"So you showed up and intentionally taunted him into hitting you and then were surprised when he hit you?!"

[Bethany]

"Rape Carol! Say it! Your beloved fucking fiance raped me!" Bethany screams at her twin, tears pouring down he face "Fuck you for defending him of that! Fuck you! I can't- I can't-" Twisting away from Shiori, Beth storms off towards the woods.

[Carver Amell]

"Please," calls Carol, and it's a small, broken cry. "Please..."

[Haliel Lightsong]

Moving around to face Carol, Haliel gently rests her hands on Carol's shoulders. "Miss Carol, talk to me. Please what?"

[Vigile]

Streaking off, Vigile follows Bethany closely to make sure she stays safe.

[Carver Amell]

"Please don't go," she whispers, but it's too late, Beth's out of range to hear the whisper. Please don't leave me. Please-- 

[Shisou]

Shiori scowls, turning to follow Beth. Heartless bitch -- if you didn't want her to leave, don't say those things!

[Marian Hawke]

"This is your fault," snarls Marian. "How fucking dare you. I can't believe I felt bad for you."

[Haliel Lightsong]

"Marian!" Lightsong says sharply. "Miss Carol hurt Miss Beth, yes, but she is also deeply hurting." Pulling Carol into a light hug. "She will come back. But you have to be willing to talk to her. To accept the truths she just laid bare fo you, at great cost to herself." A pause. "If you want her back now, then shout it."

[Carver Amell]

"Can't," she whispers, shuddering. "Can't. I just... I just... I can't... He made me feel... I can't do this, I can't."

[Haliel Lightsong]

"You don't have to stop loving him to love your sister. Even evil can loved and be loved," Lightsong whispers back. "He hurt your sister, your twin. He hurt her badly, out of evil desire and cruelty. But perhaps he does love you. I know you love him. But support your sister now." Haliel reaches up to stoke the side of her face "You need to accept the truth of how things are before you can try and make them better."
