Haliel Lightsong

Eager to move things past the part about her doing what she did, Lightsong nods quickly. "Yes, Daughter Minerva is in charge of the Healing Hall," she explains. "Marian is having terrible headaches and sensitivity to light, sound and movement."
I am the Light of My Soul.

NPCs

"So I was informed," the apparent youth agrees. "May I have permission to use healing and divination magic on you, Marian Goldhawk, child of Zanon?"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"Of course," she agrees, then frowns slightly. "But it's not Goldhawk, just Hawke. I'm a bastard."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

"Your father claimed you, even if he never claimed your mother," Minerva says absently as her eyes start glowing and a swirl of leaves cover the pair. "Hmm. First things first... yep, soul is good and solidly attached. Now let's see about that shell of yours..."
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Varric

"Was that a possibility?" Varric mutters to himself.

Marian Hawke

Marian, similarly alarmed, submits to Minerva's tests, feeling a bit of relief when Minerva posits that her shell is mostly healthy. The painkiller the healer administers is a balm to her, with the merikos actually crying with relief despite admitting it still hurts, just less so.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

Minerva hums softly, then sighs dramatically. "Just this once, okay, and only 'cause you gotta talk to your friends," the demigoddess informs Marian, wagging her finger at her. With a quick whistle and a crossing of her eyes, a butterfly lands on Marian's nose and dissolves, taking the last of the pain away. "Now, you're still hurting, I just turned off your pain for a bit," the healer cautions Marian. "So keep volumes down, try not to move about and so forth. Spell'll only last about a half hour too. Hmmm... what else... oh, right, yeah. So, that summoning you did? Well, you held a ten plus hour ritual in your head to do it. That... that's really, really stupid for a mortal. So yeah, that's going to cost you in some way. Probably memory related? Or maybe magically. Sorry, best I can tell you without some really deep tests that would just run your bill up even more. Anyway- questions? About your healing, my results, being Twice-Lived, your recovery or how to manage the migraines? "
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"Twice-lived?" she croaks. "But... I don't--"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Helene Dakesh

Helene's eyes burn with tears, and ne looks down in shame. My apprentice died, and I wasn't there. Ne takes a deep, shuddering breath, beginning to rock gently, keeping quiet, out of the way.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Haliel Lightsong

I am the Light of My Soul.

Varric

"...something you'd like to share with the class?" Varric asks, eyes gleaming with intent. Paladins can't cast that ritual so...

Marian Hawke

"I... I died?" she whispers, despite the respite from the pain.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"Just- just for a few seconds," Haliel whispers brokenly, tears dripping onto the bed. "I- I wasn't f-fast en-enough t-to-to-"
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"This... is not how I expected to kill myself," she admits, raking a hand through her hair. "Okay. What can you tell me about the migraines?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

Haliel's head snaps up, eyes alight. "Marian Middle-name Gold Hawk! You will not speak that lightly of- of-"
I am the Light of My Soul.
