Marian Hawke

"Just... some tests that... Varric said I..."

Marian glances away, wiping at her eyes. "I'll explain later. I just, I want to be sure that... This is sounding like mental trauma and that can have an impact. That's all."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

The demigoddess cocks her head to the side. I could tell her that her faculties were deeply scrambled but repaired thanks to her love's efforts, as part of bringing her back... but she won't accept a simple declaration, even from one such as I. Oh well. "Do you have any more questions for me?" she asks in her cheerful voice instead.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"No, I-- I wouldn't know what to ask. Can I write you, later? If I think of more things?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

"Well, you can just came to the Hall and ask for me," Minerva replies with a grin. "Even if I'm not around, I'll hear."
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"Sure, sure..." What are we doing now? Staying here? Leaving? Splitting up? "Thank you, Minerva. I really appreciate your help."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

"No problem- it was kind of niee to get something other than a simple injury, poisoning or illness." Hopping off the bed, the demigoddess skips from the room. A moment later, her voice calls back, "oh! And bed rest until breakfast tomorrow!"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Haliel Lightsong

"How are you handling things?" Haliel asks quietly after the last echo fades.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"I-- this is a lot to take in, Haliel," she whispers. "I... I died? I might have brain damage?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"I know. I'm sorry, I... I was... I was going to wait a while before I... told you about..." Haliel gestures weakly with her free hand.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"I'm sorry," she says, miserable. "This is my fault. I shouldn't have drank that brew. I knew it was untested, but.."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Helene Dakesh

Helene shakes nir head firmly.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

"If you hadn't... well, walk it back," Varric orders her. "If you had fought as best you could without it, what would have happened?"

Marian Hawke

"I.. I was out of bombs," she admits. "And the crossbow was barely getting through the thing's hide. Lightsong was fighting it up close, and Jassinth was firing arrows at it -- I didn't have many options prepared."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

"So if you hadn't done it... Newboy said it was coming right at you." The implication, the end result of a dragon against a virtually unarmed Marian, is left unsaid. "You saved Shiny's life, she gave you yours back. Seems pretty fair to me. Kind of curious as to how though..."

Marian Hawke

"But I died anyway," she points out. "If I hadn't taken that experimental mutagen, I'd have maybe not damaged myself."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.
