[Bethany]

"Oh." Yeah, that... that makes sense. I would... if I could never seen Carver again... "Yeah, okay. We'll... we'll figure things out. Just be you, their sister, and we'll figure things out," she says softly.

[Shisou]

"You... you h-haven't a-asked. But... do you... w-want to know? Wh-who I was?"

[Bethany]

Beth doesn't answer right away. Finally... "I am curious, but that's the bard in me. I can wait, if you're just not ready. I can look it up myself if you give me a hint, if you want me to know but can't say it. But... I trust you. I know who you are, if not who you were or where you come from. That's enough for now, for this."

[Shisou]

"I-- I trust you, now," she says, and the stammer fades as she realizes it's true. "I... I a-am... w-was... "

With a rueful grin, as she leads the way to the tree, she says, in that bardic voice, "You have the pleasure of addressing Higurashi Shisou, oldest child of Higurashi Kuronue, daughter of Higurashi Yasha, son of Higurashi "Inu taisho", son of Daimyo Higurashi, blessed by Ancestor Vojopotencokuŝasenvenĝoprenitapostmalfelicxo, who intercedes with Dark VojoPotenco to intercede with Dark Zanon." She says it all again in Tengu, letting the familiar syllables wash through her like water, like something entirely divorced from her life, her reality.

[Bethany]

"Uh..." Beth stops near the end, staring at him. "Sorry, did I hear- come again?"

[Shisou]

"All Toukami nobility trace their lineage back to a Deity," says Shiori, blushing a bit. "Through a Herald, or through a Greater Elemental Power."

[Bethany]

"Yeah, I've read about that, I just- sorry. Zanon. He..." She winces, looking away. "Marian," she finally mumbles.

[Shisou]

Shisou is quiet for a bit. Finally, she says softly, "it was strange to me, when I moved to Nyra. Nobody worships the Heptad directly in Toukami. Only prays to their own ancestor. I don't know anything about the Path to Perfection, not personally. I don't much like w-wrath. B-been on the wr-wrong s-side of it a f-few times. B-but... how do y-you tu-turn away from the Ancestors? S-so... I w-worshipped everyone. Wh-whoever would h-have me. Wh-whatever the r-right task w-was. I d-don't know who my Patron sh-should be. I f-figure let Mileen s-sort out whose I am, now."

[Bethany]

"You're Pantheistic?" Beth asks, startled and glad to get off the topic of her sister. "Huh. Never really known-known someone that did that... Kind of neat." She offers her a smile, then smirks. "Give me a few more months, maybe I can snap you up for Ciren," she teases her.

[Shisou]

She smiles shyly. "Maybe," she agrees. 

[Bethany]

Beth moves the conversation along, asking more about the way religion and government work in Toukami in the interest of 'getting the view of someone I actually know' on the subject. Soon enough, their wanderings inside the Oak lead them to...

[NPCs]

"Yes. It seemed practical, should a bargain be made," Dau explains from their left.

[Shisou]

Shiori bows low, clasping her hands together. "Honored Dau, who intercedes with Bright Raplin who intercedes with Bright Uryll, respectful greetings." Shiori, startled, barely manages to keep the greeting in Common, traditional forms and all. "I have come to inquire about a boon."

[NPCs]

Dau blinks twice. "Yes?" he finally replies. 

[Shisou]

"I have observed that... y-you were... th-the repayment for C-carver's f-fleshc-crafting d-depended o-on... ch-changed. I was i-interested i-i-in... i-if.. if I-i-i w-were t-to... a-ask f-for a s-s-s-imilar p-procedure..."
