Merrill

Merrill sighs a little, melting into Carver. He's offered to marry her, but that never feels real. Those words, offered almost without thought, without calculation or intent... "I love you too," she whispers back in sylvian.

Carver Amell

"Sorry," he murmurs a moment later. "I just-- It's still hard to believe sometimes, that anyone sees me as male and not just... broken."

Merrill

"Because you are," Merrill says sincerely. Just like how you think I'm a person. It's... nice.

Carver Amell

"Where we're going, nobody will believe that. You know that, right? We'll tell them a story and most of them won't believe me."

Merrill

Merrill shrugs a little. "No-one ever believes anything g-good about me. Except you." She snuggles into his side. "That's enough. You're enough."

Carver Amell

"They might treat you badly. Because of me. If anyone does, will you tell me? So I can make it right?"

Merrill

"As long as you promise to tell me," Merrill says firmly, very clearly still set on being his partner, his equal, as best she can.

Carver Amell

"...if someone treats you badly?" he asks, blinking.

Merrill

Merrill blinks. "That too. But I meant you badly." She pauses, frowning, then tries again. "We each t-tell each other if anyone treats either of us badly."

Carver Amell

"Merrill... they're all going to treat me badly. Are you sure you want to hear about it?"

Merrill

"Yes," the elf says stoutly. They better not...

Carver Amell

"Aright. But if you change your mind, let me know."

Merrill

"Mine," Merrill growls, grabbing his hand tightly. "I won't let people hurt you like me."

Merrill

She grins at him happily and they go quiet for a bit, save for a few soft kisses. "I'm glad this worked out," she murmurs contentedly. "Jass looked like he knew what he was d-doing, so maybe he can give me s-some advice or tips next time." She blushes, eyes going unfocused as she considers it.
