The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

Go Down

Bethany

"To Ciren, to Junon, to Alydra," Bethany says promptly. "Carver is my brother and always has been, no matter what ill-suited shape he was forced to wear for a time."

Carver Amell

"Before we go further, the matter I brought up-- our guardian? Can he be allowed to enter?" urges Carver.

Bethany

Beth nods quickly. "Quite so. It's hardly proper to be interviewing two minors such as ourselves while keeping our guardian from us."

NPCs

Scowling, zi'Berti opens his mouth to reply, then grins slightly. "How can he be your guardian? Such a thing requires certain... steps. Legalities, forms, proper judgement of elders. Children cannot be allowed to select your own guardians- if you were wise and experienced enough for that, then you wouldn't need them!" He chuckles, pleased with that little bit of wit.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Carver Amell

"I filled out the forms. For signature, in lieu of a judge, I had a god sign. Well, his factor." Carver gives a predatory grin, his eyes equal parts triumphant and angry. La'livingston studies the boy, reading the signs of anger writ across his body -- and not in a way that seems unusual, as if he's habituated to being angry. As if anger is as natural to him as breathing, as natural as despair was in Carol. Carver tries to keep the anger in check; he's been warned over and over what will happen if he goes off on a Light, as if he didn't already know, as if he wasn't keenly aware what is at stake here. But he can't hold the anger back entirely, can't banish it from his body and voice, just a touch.

Aveline Vallen

"I stood witness and signed as well," Bright's Vallen adds before the Lights can reply. "And I swear in Vanga's name, on my oaths as paladin, that the forms were filled properly and accurately as assured by Dau, eldest Daughter of IT-THAT-IS-RAPLIN who is sworn to SHE-THAT-IS-URYLL." To drive it home, she switches to celestial for the names, doing her best to put the impossible inflection on them that outsiders can achieve. It's not quite right, of course, but she does fairly well.

"I trust that to be sufficient?" She doesn't reach for a weapon, not having moving towards the hilt of her blade, but the challenge is very, very clear- even a Light might hesitate to accuse a Bright's paladin of swearing a false oath.
The Law cannot protect anyone, if it does not apply to everyone.

NPCs

"Then it seems that matter is at rest," zi'Marass says smoothly. "I congratulate you both on the matter. It is good for the young to have the wisdom of the old to guide them." He smiles faintly, eyes flicking to Beth.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Bethany

Shan's dad... did she... Did she manage to convince him to help us? I know we're rival families, sorta, but Lord zi'Marass loathed Gamlen so... maybe it was personal, not political? Can't fault his taste if so... Tentatively, she smiles back.

Panis zi’Ulthlis

"I presume you have- thank you, Bright's Vallen," Panis says with exquisite politeness, nodding to the paladin as she steps forward to offer a scribe the paperwork in question. "I think we can assume this will all check out- let's not let more time be wasted."

Carver Amell

"So he can be here, then?" asks -- demands -- Carver.

Panis zi’Ulthlis

The Lord Hand's gaze shifts to land on Carver with the weight of a beholder's stare, a frown forming. He waits a moment, as if giving the young man a chance to... amend his utterance.

Carver Amell

Carver lifts his head, meeting Panis' eyes, daring him to argue. At a nudge from Beth, he blinks, glancing back down, biting his lower lip. Right. Best behavior. "Sir," he amends.

Panis zi’Ulthlis

Have to give the boy credit for spine at least. Take some for foolishness but... "Unless anyone objects?" he says mildly after a moment. Another moment or two of silence passes and he nods, gesturing at a servant.

Roland

The elven bard strides in through the tunnel, his hesitation at seeing the Light filled Wick only minimal. Reaching the twins, he smiles. "That was fast," he murmurs.
How the fuck did this get so out of hand..?

Carver Amell

"Not fast enough," mutters Carver under his breath, reaching for Roland's hand. "Alright," he says, louder, lifting his head. "We can continue now. Thank you."
