"Even if my best isn't very good?" she asks, her tone meek.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

She blushes, then, dropping her gaze once more -- this time, to the bitty baby. "I.. would like very much to be your sister," she says quietly. "I thought about it, and... I'd like that."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"That sounds pretty good," Varric agrees just as quietly. "Guess we should decide if we want to be Hawkes, Tethrases or something else entirely."

Marian Hawke

"Tethras," she says. "I don't-- there aren't any Hawkes. My father is dead and I'm a bastard. I'd rather not be one."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

Can't say I'm all that fond of the name anymore but... "What the hells," he says with a shrug. "Name's got a lot of tarnish on it but that just means we don't have to worry about marring a perfect creation.

Marian Hawke

"Alright," she says, quietly. "You, me, and bitty baby are all Tethrases now. And maybe someday soon, Helene."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric coughs, blushing a little. "That's... well. Shiny wouldn't mind your invite, if I'm reading her right."

Marian Hawke

"...we'll see," admits Marian.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Ricky grumbles softly and pushes the bottle away with a gurgle. "Looks like he's just about done. You got him?"

Marian Hawke

"Yeah. Hand me a rag?" She takes it, carefully positioning him over her shoulder again and burping him as she bounces him a bit. "Bitty baby," she coos.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"Where did that come from, by the way?"

Marian Hawke

Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Marian Hawke

"Oh. I don't know. He's just so little. He's the smallest baby I've ever seen. An itty bitty baby."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.
