Solras, The Protector

Solras, Daughter of Umdor, and Elder Private of the Watch observes the clipboard gravely

"You can't be that far behind on the paperwork... That must be almost a Month's worth there." She observes, clearly underestimating the amount of paperwork needed at the watch, It's actually closer to two weeks worth.... probably, some of those carbon paper forms are deceptively thin for the number of pages they have.

Aveline Vallen

Well, that depends on how busy one's week is- and one's rank. And of course, that is only the missing paperwork. Presumably, Wylde had turned in most of her paperwork, of Sgt. Vallen would have been upset with Wylde instead of just mildly displeased. To get nearly forty sheets, Wylde either missed most of yesterday or has been failing to submit a handful of reports each day for the few weeks... Vallen exchanges a look with the other sergeant, who nods and winks before walking away. Turning to face the pair, Vallen sighs.

"If you need help with understanding it or how to fill it out, please ask, Pte Wylde. If not from your partner, than from me or one of the other trainers. You and-" She cuts off, frowning, as she studies them both. "...is there anything you should report now, verbally, in regards to your patrol?"

Wylde

"We got wet," she mentions, unhelpfully. "Chasing some petty thief as got away."

Solras, The Protector

Solras, Daughter of Umdor, and Elder Private of the Watch chimes in with a "helpful comment"

"Not just a thief, they also resisted arrest by fleeing and engaged in assaulting an officer of the peace in the execution of their duty. They are lucky we were not higher on the wall when they knocked us off, else they would have grevious bodily harm to answer for as well."

Wylde

Wylde flinches. Way to make us sound competent.

Aveline Vallen

"You tried to chase a cat-cat up a wall?" Vallen says with a slight wince. "Have you both been checked out by a healer?"

Solras, The Protector

"Unecessary. We were not injured in the fall."  Solras, Daughter of Umdor, and Elder Private of the Watch states stiffly. It's probably true for her, Dwarves are tough, especially those from mining clans. When you live underground with a pickaxe in your hand it helps having the ability to take a rockslide to the face and be able to dig yourself out afterwards. For her partner that she landed on however...

Wylde

"We're fine," says Wylde, similarly bristling. Why do they call themselves such a juvenile name? They're catfolk. Why would they want to sound like children, barely able to form coherent sentences? And doubly why would Vallen encourage that sort of talk?

Solras, The Protector

Solras, Daughter of Umdor, and Elder Private of the Watch salutes.

"With your permission there is paperwork we have to do." she says, intending to refer to her own end of shift paperwork, but the flat delivery could make it sound like a jab at Wylde.

Aveline Vallen

Vallen rolls her eyes, but only slightly. Vangal protect fools and the young. "Remember, by the end of lunch. And make sure it's in your handwriting this time please." She hesitates, then adds, "if you get it done properly, then I'll file it for you."

Wylde

Wylde winces. "Yess'm," she says, managing a decent salute. Guess I know what I'm doing all lunch.

Solras, The Protector

"Soonest started soonest finished we guess." Solras, Daughter of Umdor, and Elder Private of the Watch mutters walking towards the office area to grab an empty desk. "We should get to it."

Aveline Vallen

"Dismissed, both of you," Vallen says, not unkindly. "I've had fresh quills and ink dropped off on your desk," she adds.

Wylde

Their work complete, a wrung-out Wylde drags Solas off to one of her favorite taverns: the Gilder Goose, a cozy little place full of ruffians and swill. Not the usual pub the guards hit up when off duty; this is more likely to be frequented by lowlifes and criminals, but Wylde's left the uniform at work and seems unlikely to stick her nose into anyone's business, so they're shown to a booth and seated.

Wylde orders them garlic potatoes and ale before hanging her head into her hands, groaning a bit in relief. "Well, at least that's done. I should have listened to my mum and became a lumberjack."

Solras, The Protector

Solras, Daughter of Umdor, and Elder Private of the Watch has also left her uniform at the office, donning a shirt of traditional dwarvish chain mail and leather instead. Her order was identical to Wylde's, save for the alcohol which was omitted.

"Lumberjack? Nay that would be a gross misuse of your talents. With shoulders and arms like yours you'd be better suited for working a goldmine." she jokes with her partner. Or tries to, the delivery is almost completely flat, as anyone who has spent any time around her would expect.
