The Midnight Prince

[Rokag]

Rokag gives a nod before moving to offer a hand to the Midnight Princess.


"So, I kinda think we should talk about this."

Rokag hadn't talked too much on the way back from the fight. She'd decided that they needed to stop someplace where they wouldn't be overheard and she knew well. Which was why they were back in the medical room at the menagerie where they'd met before.

"Uh...and where's Carbonne`? I thought xe was supposed to be with you all the time when you did this kinda thing?"

[Shisou]

"Carbonne is d-d-d-d-ead," stammers the Midnight Princess -- no, stammers Shisou, no matter how girlish he might seem at the moment. 

[Rokag]

Rokag blinked. "Um...oh...uh." Fuck! That's...I mean... "That's...rough." She looked down at the floor as she tried to figure out what to say. "Uh...sorry. I didn't...well, I didn't think he COULD do that."

[Shisou]

"xe," corrects Shisou. "I c-c-c-an s-s-summon x-xem b-back."

[Rokag]

"Xe, right!" Rokag shook her head, frowning a little. "So...he's not actually...well, I guess he can die but...Fuck it, I'll just ask him when you do whatever you need to. The point is that I need to come with you."

[Shisou]

"I d-d-d-on't h-have to g-g-o anywh-where," stammers Shisou. "I c-c-can d-d-o it d-d-dawn day after t-t-tomorrow."

[Rokag]

No...well, I mean probably. I kinda wanna make sure that's not going to go to shit, but I mean when you go out and do all this crap." She gestures around them. "Sure as shit better than just waiting back at the huge mansion and waiting to hear if you died or something."

[Shisou]

"I w-w-won't d-d-d-die," he stammers. "Y-y-you m-m-might."

[Rokag]

"Eel shit! Are you saying that you wouldn't have died today?" Rokag snapped. "Did you have some kinda magic thing you were planning to do when that fire dog demon thing looked like it was going to go for your throat?"

[Shisou]

"I've b-b-b-been d-doing th-this for y-y-years."

[Rokag]

"Great? So you've been almost getting yourself killed for years and you think that -I- can't keep myself alive?"

[Shisou]

"I h-h-h-ad h-h-help." With a motion, he reaches up to his amulet, shifting back to his male form. 

[Rokag]

"And apparently I can make swords and stab things, so it's not like I'm useless. Not to mention I'm the one that's survived on the shore by themselves." Rokag took a breath. She needed Shisou to understand and all that was happening now was her getting pissy that for SOME reason, he thinks she can't take care of herself. "I was saying that you need MORE help, or we're both going to end up dead."

[Shisou]

"I h-h-h-have to d-d-do this. Y-y-y-you d-d-don't. You c-c-can b-b-e s-safe."

[Rokag]

"You think I'm safe?" She mutters something under her breath. "How exactly is this situation safe? And I DO have to do this, because you DO realize that I'm just as dead as you are if you get yourself killed running around on that damned contraption, right?"
