"Alright I definitely think marriage is something you should have mentioned before any biting, since THAT-" Acutis suddenly was giving Tony a somewhat intense look. "sounds like a fairly serious promise. And if it is, then everyone needs to know Exactly what they're getting into."

"The bite was nessicary. Mating madness is a very dangerous thing. But like I said it doesn't always end in marriage. Mala has my mating bite but we will never go through the final mating ceremony because it's not what she wants. If Jamie doesn't want to go through the ceremony he doesn't have to. I haven't brought it up before because I'm trying to go slow. I mean he's been through a lot of change in the past week. 'Hi I'm your mentor and also the wolf that your souls is tied to I need to bite you so you don't go insane and hurt yourself, welcome to pack life, oh by the way if you want we can get married in a few months and you can have my children,' seams a bit much don't you think?"

"Um. I don't. Think that's how. Babies work?"

"Well I mean there's a ritual that would make it possible for you to carry but again we're not there yet and besides if I want more kids I'll just take a female mate, it's a lot simpler that way."

Jamie pales. "Oh," he whispers.

Fuck he smells like fear I fucked up again "hey," I say softly all the tension leaving me " hey, I'm sorry, I didn't.... I don't... look there's a lot for you to learn but I don't expect anything like that from you. Ok? I've got two kis that's enough for now, and I'd never make that choice for you ok?" I want to pull him into my arms to make him feel safe and loved but I hesitate. "I'm sorry" I say again

"I....see." Acutis seemed distracted for a second. "I'd probably also not suggest anything like that. No way to know what that might do to Jamie or any kids that might result.

[Toby]

"Right... I mean we're a long way away from these conversations I was hoping to ease him into this.." I sigh "you ok Jamie? Maybe we should go in the other room and talk?" I look at Acutis and then back to Jamie

[Jamie D'vart]

"No! No, it's... it's fine. I'm fine."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"If it would help, you could just pretend that I'm not bothered by this and aren't going to judge you." He paused. "I mean, mostly because it's true, but you might feel better if you're pretending it."

"It's.... not that. This is just... a lot."

I nod gently placing my hand on his shoulder "I know...." I sigh gently

God why is this so difficult? Why can't I just talk to him? He's just a boy! I talk to kids all the time! God why is he different?'

"And it's not like you need to worry about being stuck...tho maybe taking some time to talk through some of this"

"I had planned on it but none of this has gone according to plan.." ain't that the truth "also I know Tova was talking to Jamie about some of this. She's in his class at school and has been with my pack a little over a year now. She joined when we merged with Dixon's pack." I explain
