Tobys cabin

[Toby]

I pit the whisky away and lock the cabinet. Grabbing a glass of water in a rocks glass instead. "It was just me that gave the news.. but I'm worried about Steve more than your ex wife. If hes droning it's highly likely he's trying to build a heram, and there's a lot of at risk kids in this city....I don't trust him... I don't like being in this kind of situation Acutis feels too much like war." I shake my head and take a swig. Sighing "sorry forgive the ramblings of a vet."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Good to know, honestly. When I'm the only one that doesn't like someone, it's usually an instinct and those can be...tricky. I mostly don't trust him since I haven't met him and Sophie seems to be making really odd decisions. Not the shooting you thing, tho. That's...kinda how we met. She's really a rather good woman. Very understanding."

[Toby]

"We've run into each other before.... She's decant, not many case workers for the law are.  Raised a good kid too...." I rub the back of my neck

[Acutis D'Vart]

"You....might want to not talk about sleeping with Jamie if you do talk again. She'd definitely WANT to do it, but she's protective. It's something we have in common." He shrugged a little. "...What HAS happened to Jamie that'd he be paniced about this, tho?"

[Toby]

I take a deep breath and decide honesty is best with him "when we were camping...the full moon came and....... Fuck there's good way to say this..... a hunter went after my pups and Jamie saw me kill him to defend them.... I didn't mean for it to happen while he was there but I had to protect him and the kids..... we haven't told Sophia.... Figured that would be a bad idea."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"...huh, yeah. She'd have done a lot worst than shoot you, probably." Acutis frowned a little. "Tho you didn't decide to kill him to cover it up. Which is good since you seem decent enough and I would have had to kill you over it." He was...rather calm about the entire topic of murder. "That's not going to BE a problem, is it? I can't tell so far and that usually doesn't mean I need to worry, but it seems more polite to ask."

[Toby]

I chuckle "there's no need to cover it pack law allows for the pack to kill to defend themselves. He took the first move and I did tapper work. It's all official.  As far as hurting Jamie I would never intentionally hurt him. I care about him, he's my mate. I might be a bit of an ass and clumsy as hell when it comes to talking to him but I would die before hurting him." I say honestly

[Acutis D'Vart]

Acutis frowned a little. "Might want to talk more about things so you don't end up hurting him in ways other than physically...but I think that's alright so far." He gave a bit of a smile. "Can't talk much about age gaps, but you should be careful with him. My children are the most important thing to me. One of the few things I'd honestly trade much of myself for."

[Toby]

"I understand that and I'm planning on sitting down with him but things haven't gone according to plan. And they don't make pan flits for this." I joke

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Should probably have some of those." Acutis thoguht for a second. "I know someone joked about having a 'you've been spirited away by the fae' one of those, but it seems...kinda in poor taste? Plus most people would think that it was a joke."

[Toby]

"Yah seams like it." I smile "anything else you want to know before we tell Jamie it's safe to come out?"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Fair. I'll ask him more directly later, maybe it was just him thinking that we WOULD kill each other." He smiled fondly. "I'm glad he's such a sensitive boy. Should have a better time than I did at least."

[Toby]

I nod "we all hope are children have it better. He's a good one. We'll figure this out I'm sure." I smile "Jamie it's good to come back" I call up the stairs

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie hesitates, then comes down the stairs, his rat riding on his shoulder. "Hey dad. Oh, you remember Azzy?"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Oh good! You kept him. I was worried he'd been eaten or something and that'd be a whole thing to track down again." He gave a smile to Jamie. "Feeling a little better?"
