Tobys cabin

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie dreams. A tiger and a wolf, circling each other in the darkness, with a flickering flame between them, keeping them separate. 

His forehead burns. He doesn't wake up when he's moved. 

[Sophia D'Vart]

Sophia, wiping the streaks of tears and mascara from her eyes, makes her way into Toby's study where he sits, waiting, Jamie on a cot nearby. 

"Thank you," she says quietly, eyes lowered, shoulders hunched, showing every sign of submission she can on two legs. 

[Toby]

She looks pathetic, potty overwhelmed anger for a moment and I sigh. "What the hell hapoend to you Sophia?" I sigh "last I saw you were newly single and in charge of your life, how the hell did you get mixed up with a guy like that?" I shake my head. "What we're you thinking?"

[Sophia D'Vart]

She tugs on her shirt, showing the bite mark on her neck. "He turned me," she says quietly. "He told me I didn't have a choice, that if I wasn't with his pack I was against them and he'd report me as a feral."

[Toby]

"And you didn't report it? Come on you're smarter than this!" I snarle

[Sophia D'Vart]

"I'd lose my job! Nobody hires weres in this town."

[Toby]

"Then it's a good thing you work for the fucking feds!" I snap sitting forward. "You expect me to believe that you just became some cats fuck toy because he bit you? Fuck you! I'm doing this as a courtesy to Jamie you stupid cunt, if I hadn't promised him your safety you be dead for mate theft! The promis I made him is the only thing standing between you and the council of alphas! All of who, are wondering why I haven't put your head on a fucking spike! So give me something anything to keep you alive other than the lies you're trying to feed me or I will turn you over to them and let them choose your fate!" My voice is cold and low emotionless hatred seeping back in.

[Sophia D'Vart]

Sofia growls, lunging forward as claws spring from her hand. She stops herself; she's got a lot of self-control, as someone who carries a gun for her job should, and she stares at her hand in awe and fear. Only someone with the potential to be Alpha can partially-shift like that, after all. 

[Toby]

I'm on my feet in an instant. My hand around her throat slamming her into the wall of my study. "You try anything like that again and I will put you in the ground!" I snarl before letting her go and stepping back. "I'm trying to save your life here Sophia work with me!"

[Sophia D'Vart]

"I did nothing wrong. I'm not afraid of you. I tried to stop him, but women have no say in his pack. You kidnapped my boy."

[Toby]

"He ran away!" I shout "he ran away because you couldn't accept him! Old man Sophia you think I wanted to disrupt your family?! I wanted him to stay with you, to go slow, to adapt, to choose what he wants in life! But your recklessness changed that! You couldn't handle that you gay son didn't feel safe at home and ran away to my pack where he is safe and loved and because of that I had to turn him so he didn't bleed to death! You nearly got him killed!"

[Sophia D'Vart]

"I never!" she snarls. "I'm fucking bisexual you complete and utter asshat!"

[Dixon]

"And your mate threatened to kill Jamie for being a faggot." I say smoothly entering the study carrying a tea tray. "Jamie was a friend of him and it seems for good reason." I say handing Toby a tea. "Look you both care about Jamie and your both worried for him and I get that but screaming the house down doesn't do any good. So. Let's start over. Sophia take us through everything starting at how you met Steve and going from there, we speak only to understand what led to this."

[Sophia D'Vart]

"Sure. Seek to understand. That's why you slammed me against a wall," she snarls. "I told you the fucking truth, you don't like it you can leave my boy the hell alone"

[Dixon]

I holdup a hand to Toby "I wasn't here tell me."
