Carver Amell

Carver laughs heartily. "No, but seriously -- what's the ha-- what's going on?"

Varric

Varric's lips twist a little, then he sighs. "Helene... wants to correct and... smooth out the previous ritual." He clears his throat. "And reverse a very specific part of--" he doesn't want details about that, "ne wants to  give neself the ability to... bear a child."

Carver Amell

"Oh. Oh! Congratulations, in advance!" says Carver, surprised and delighted. "At least, I assume you agreed?"

Varric

Varric finds the study of his mug to be vitally important suddenly. "...having a newborn would be... not unwelcome," he evades.

Carver Amell

Carver nods, grinning. "I assume ne'll be using some kind of... ritual or something, of course. No need for... messiness. But a new baby! I'm so excited."

Varric

"Yeah?" Varric asks hesitantly. He'd not been too worried Carver would feel... uncomfortable with the idea of his dad having a blood-kin child, but...

Carver Amell

"You know how I am about kids." And he does -- it was a bit of a thing, when Carver realized how much he adores small children. Almost made him feel like he should have been female again. But with a lot of coaching, he'd come to accept that side of himself.

Varric

Varric snorts lightly. "You practiced for near two decades with Beth; wasn't much of a surprise you were a natural at being a father and dad."

Carver Amell

Carver blushes, ducking his head. "Yeah, well. My point is, I'd be glad to give you advice any time you need it," he teases. "Between Dreas, Bari, Addy, and Silas, I've been a dad to more kids than you have. Not counting your fosters," he adds. "But you never did infants, not even with me."

Varric

"Well no, that's fair, though I did more than a few dozen shifts as grandpa for yours and Beth's. Cedric's too, for that matter," Varric protests.

Carver Amell

Carver claps him on the shoulder. "Don't worry. You'll do great. Just, try to avoid simians." He winces a little, remembering Dreas's third birthday.

Varric

Varric flinches, a haunted look on his face as he recalls a terrible horror. "Tiny fur people wrong," he echoes an outraged scream from long past. What did Helene call it? The Uncanny Chasm?

Carver Amell

"Eh, there are other kinds that aren't so bad, you just picked very very wrong," laughs Carver. "So. One more round and then I gotta get home?"

Charon Tethras

Charon had bought a new outfit for this switch -- something clean, even if it's way less comfortable and luxurious than Dreas's outfits. But that's the point, isn't it? To experience the freedom Charon has, you have to experience the poverty as well. To experience the luxury Dreas has, Charon will have to put up with having way too much family.

"You're sure you want to do this, right?" Charon asks again.

Andreas Amell

"You deserve to have this chance," Andreas says stoutly, though he's not able to hide the apprehension in his bearing. "It's only a couple of days anyway. Well, a week at least. It'll be fine. Worst to worst, I can seek out your other brother or even Father Lelldorin, right?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?
