The sailor and the siren

Go Down

Nicholas Beaumont

The grief inside me grew and I just shook my head. "It's better that I stay where I am..."

I took a bite out of the salmon and immediately gagged. This is too fresh. I thought to myself before turning back to Kiarie.

"So I assume you and your family live nearby?"

Kiarie

'i have no family this is where I keep my treasures and rest from time to time. We're you also exiladed from your family?"

Nicholas Beaumont

"You could say that." I sat near him. "It was more of an attempted murder and coup.." They were at least successful with the coup anyway." I say bitterly.  "So you were exiled?"

Kiarie

"I am to big I would draw attention to any pod I swim with. So I stay below" I frown as his words play over in my head " they tried to take your territory and you won't fight back?"

Nicholas Beaumont

I noticed that I might've hit a nerve.  He is rather large, though. I don't ask anymore questions and instead answer his.

"Well...my parents are in on it. If they didn't see me as a fit leader then maybe that is best." I idly trace circles on the rock with my finger.  "I just worry for the people."

Kiarie

I look at him up and down. He is handsom and soft not a worrier but not weak either...... I look down at the cold lonely deapths and the life of solitude that awaits me.... One of these days I won't survive a run in with another pod or I'll be dragged to the surface in some nets....  I look back at him and smile sharp teeth on display "make a pact with me. I will return you to your rule and you will keep me in warm water by your side"

Nicholas Beaumont

My head snapped up.  "Return me to my rule? How will you do that?" I asked intrigued. I was never one to rebel but desperate times call for desperate measures.

And...he isn't bad to look at. My eyes slowly roamed his frame, mind headed for depths deeper than this ocean. I snapped out of it before he noticed. I lean in smile sweetly.

"I'm in."

Kiarie

I grin back and grab him pulling him into the water with me.  As I dive down swimming quickly through the cave mouth and then twords where I know the shore to be. I'm swift and lithe and move easily through the water even with my princling.

Once we reach the cost I let him go before I haul myself from the water. The average siren is 5'ft long I'm nearly seven feet. Still as I dry my tail turns to legs. Pale lean muscular legs that matched the rest of me pale and toned.

I stumble the first time I try to stand as I haven't been on land since I was a child. how do people move like this I wonder trying again. On the third try I stand and even though I wobble slightly I manage to walk to him. "it will take me a bit to adjust bit once I tone my legs to the surface I will go after those who would harm you pet"

Nicholas Beaumont

"Ah! Uh..." My mouth opened and closed like the salmon he brought to me earlier. PENIS!! my mind unhelpfully screamed as it took a nosedive into the depths of hell.  I cleared my throat and shook my head to snap out ot it.

Blushing madly, I took off my jacket that came to my ankles.  "H-here," I thrusted the jacket toward Kiarie without looking at him. "It isn't much, but it can at least cover you as we head into town..."

Today, I was overthrown before my reign could begin. I was left for dead but found by a siren.  Said siren has offered to help me restore my rule in turn for safety.

And here I am suffering from hysteria.

I start to head into town and motion for him to follow.

Kiarie

I look at the garment u sure how to put it on. the tubes must go on the legs but what of the rest of it. I don't wish to lose him so I wuicy put one leg in each hike and pull it up to my waist bfore tying it there and hurrying to catch up. Finally o reach his side. "tell me of this place" I ask jesturing around us.

"This is Avalon. My home and where I am-, was, to rule." The streets are quieter than usual.  I notice most shops are closing down earlier. Strange. There are mourning wreaths on every door and-...wait.

I stopped and Kiarie looked at me inquisitively.  I ran my fingers through my hair, watching the strands fade to a white blonde as it rested on my forehead.

"I guess the word of my death got out. Wouldn't be safe for people to recognize me." I sigh.  "We may not have much time. We have to head North toward my home. I'm not sure how much time passed since I was thrown overboard..." I started to move again but stopped once I realized how Kiarie was wearing the jacket I gave him.

"Ah...is that comfortable for you?"

Kiarie

"is this not the style?" I ask tilting my head " many of your dead look this way....to be honest it's not very comfortable"

Nicholas Beaumont

"Ah...I'm afraid it isn't the style. Let's get back to my home. It will be a matter of time before they realize I'm not dead."  I motion Kiarie to follow me as we continue north.

Kiarie

Are there rivers between here and there? I can move us faster in the water and time is an ally if we use it well."

Nicholas Beaumont

I pause and think. "If we go through this alleyway, yes. There should be one near the other side."
