The Black Dirge [Sci-fi]

Siegfried settles back in his chair, already regretting having to leave. Can't he just stay here, where everything suits him?

Morden leaned against the wall of the hallway where they'd exited the 'training room'. They were still holding the 'package' and wasn't exactly keen on letting it go until Shinigami showed up, as much as THAT was going to be a terrible conversation.

As soon as he stops flexing his power onto it, a light on the top flicks on: it's bright red, and would clearly show in the dark room they were in, to prevent cheating. Neat toy, that.

Kimiko gets back to her feet, frowning, and exits the training room. She's sure that she must have done a very poor job.

Kenji sighs as he walks out slowly. He's slouching slightly and rubbing his neck with one hand. He quietly mumbles something about cereal boxes and toy soldiers as he looks around for somewhere to sit down.

Zee stalks out of the training room and heads for the showers immediately. she's pretty annoyed and wants to get clean before she accidentally inflicts her annoyance on anyone else.

A few minutes later, Shinigami makes her way to the main room, scowling at Kenji and Kimiko. "Well that could have gone better," she grumbles. "But, you did pass."

Kimiko stares are her for a few seconds, then blinks. "Uh?" She blinks again, then points at herself, as though questioning if Shinigami was, in fact, talking to her. Without waiting for confirmation, she pipes up, "I... passed?" She kind of stares in disbelief, as if she wants to ask 'are you sure'.

"Barely," she snaps. "The whole lot of you need much more training."

Kenji sighs a little bit, commenting simply in a resigned tone, "No disagreements here..." He felt sort of used to Shinigami's harshness these days.... and it's not like she's wrong he thinks to himself, they were a bit sloppy in places there.

Zee stomps back into the common area, still wet from her quick shower, and nude from the waist up, having not bothered to put on more than a towel.

"Next time you put a pitfall for me, don't make it trap me under all that dust." She snaps at Shinigami, her voice colder than room temperature but significantly warmer than it has been when she first exited the training area. "As for the rest of the team. congrats on completing the objective after i got taken out. Next time, we'll work at not losing anyone and getting better at what we do."

Zee's calming down from her anger/annoyance, but it's a slow process.

"Next time I put a pitfall for you, don't fall into it," snarls Shinigami. "I have to go make my report." she snaps, turning to storm out of the room...

just as Siegfried is entering it. She jabs a finger at him angrily, but lets him pass her; he ducks his head, hunching his shoulders. He's got big old headphones hanging around his neck, plugged into the mini-datapad in his pocket. It helps dwarf his already delicate features, making his expression harder to make out as he ducks his head, trying to become as small as possible to avoid her wrath.

Kimiko covered her eyes nervously when Zee walked in. She's still not used to that sorta thing! Very much not! She's super red too, not just from that, but also from being accepted as a member. She's officially a part of the group!

Kenji shakes his head as Shinigami storms out, he then look across the other people in the room, including the newcomer Siegfried. He leans back and says casually, "So... who's looking forward to the next run?"

Siegfried hunches his shoulders. "Sorry," he mumbles, avoiding eye contact as he shuffles his feet. "I should have guessed about the pitfall."
