CalamityJade

"There is something wrong with the City. Someone appears to be trying to manipulate the city into getting something...and it is causing people to be...displaced. To wander the City with no connection and to be preyed upon by the City itself in a bid to protect those that live here."

Hammer Sister

Harrox?

"I have a feeling I know who that person may be... but I want to find out more before I can be sure."

Rob takes a moment to consider his next question.

"What's the difference between blue threads and red threads?"

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

"Both are unnatural...but I believe the only difference is that one is much more noticable than the other." That was...more cryptic than most of what she's said, which might be a tad annoying.

Hammer Sister

That didn't really help much... still, at least it's something.

"If they're unnatural, that means someone created them for a reason; would they be related to the person who's trying to manipulate the city?"

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

"I doubt someone would use something so blatant...I'm not sure where, but there are people that use the term 'pulling someone's strings' as a way of saying they are being manipulated. I would say that was a very good inclination."

Hammer Sister

Rob pauses for thought again; a few moments later, he continues his questioning.

"What does a Fatespinner actually do?"

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

"Reads the future of those that ask, and attempt to bring some amount of peace to those that live in the city." That was rather..."Though reading a persons Fate is actually quite difficult and not someone to be done lightly. It is why I am selective of my clients."

Hammer Sister

"That makes it sound like our destinies are predetermined; I can't imagine that's a popular opinion."

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

"If they were predetermined, then reading someone's Fate would be easy. In fact, there would be little need for one such as myself. What I do is guide others to their Fates, which requires not changing their fates with too much information...unfortunatly, that tends to cause a lot of frustration when I do not simply give them the answers they want."

Hammer Sister

"I can understand the feeling." Rob may be smiling slightly, but it's not to hide his own frustration; it's simply to take the edge off, in order not to offend.

Doubt I'll get any more info pursuing that line of inquiry... but there is another I can pursue.

"I understand you've had contact with someone by the name of Obsidian Roidmet; may I ask what you discussed?"

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

"Ah. Him...rather brutish fellow. He has a tendency to be about as subtle as the blow to the head that put me in here." She chuckled slightly before continuing. "We discussed, mostly, many of the things you have asked me about, though he was very focused on the Welcomed rather than the Lost."

Hammer Sister

Surely not in relation to himself, since he is one of the Welcomed... I wonder...

"What exactly did he want to know? I always thought being Welcomed was a pretty simple affair: you either are, or you aren't."

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

"...tell me, do you think it's possible for someone not Welcomed to be successful? That the city would allow anyone to become prosperous without it's involvement?"

Hammer Sister

"You mean being Welcomed isn't a sign of success, but a prerequisite? If that's the case, then that surely means success is arbitrary, rather than based on merit."

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

"Very much so...but I was asking what you thought of this, rather than it's implications."
