"You built that thing?" Lance sounds mildly impressed. "I figured it was less conspicuous than the porshe, was all."

"Yes, I built it. Something of a hobby. Everyone kept doing all the usual shit I did, so I had to come up with something....but that doesn't really solve the problem." Obsidian took a bit of a calming breath, mostly due to his frustrations with the situation. "So, that's still begs the question of why the hell you'd pull a stunt like this in the first place? What the hell does it solve?"

Lance looks toward the horizon, hands in his pockets. "....No reason, I guess."

"Bullshit, Lance. If I'm gonna think you're smart enough to not get yourself killed, then you had to have a reason to do what you did."

Lance bristles for a moment, but it fades rapidly. "You saw what happened to Siegfried."

"He got hurt following you. It was pretty shit, but it happens... Unless you think you're the reason." Obsidian frowned "Wait...so you think running away is going to help him?"

He scowls. "I tried to send him away and instead he ran off and got you."

"He got me because he wanted to help you. He followed you because he cared what happened to your dumb ass. Not saying he should have, but that's where all this comes from." Obsidian frowned. "Had I thought you'd have gotten as bad as you had, I might have tried to leave earlier."

His scowl deepens. "You said I was fine. Now you're talking like that bitch."

"I meant that you cut ties with everything, tear down the one guy that stuck with you the entire time, and think that the best thing you could have done is stay alone until you died, and even all that seems to be getting better." Obsidian glared back. "So don't give me that shit."

Lance looks at him, scowling through some stray hair. "So? That's called safety, dumbass."

Obsidian frowned. "And you running away....that was also safety?"

"There's too damn many people in the house," he snaps. "What am I supposed to do? Maybe you don't give a fuck if they get hurt, but I've killed too fucking many people already."

"You haven't attacked anyone! Seig was stupid and followed you while everyone else can take care of themselves! Stop trying to find reasons that you should be suffering. You want them to be safe? Then stop giving me so much shit about not caring and maybe we can figure out how your supposed to control that wolf so you don't black out any time you fully change."

"Send everyone else away," he says, darkly. "If we're going to experiment, I want you armored and nobody else nearby."
