Siegfried nods. "What belongs here, do you know?"

"We have five elements, and a sixth space. the sixth element obviously goes there, but which face? That is the choice. Forward into Death? or embrace Life?  I cannot choose, Not even after all this time. You must choose, one or the other, but either way the circle must be completed."

yamikuronue

Siegfried nods.

"...Forgive me if this is wrong, but... I am no butcher. If there's a chance, however slim, that you can go on in some fashion, I will do what I can to make that happen. Can you show me the symbol for Life?"

accalia

The Shade of Sylphia doesn't have to, as soon as Siegfried says the name he knows how to draw the rune of life, every curve, every corner, their meanings and interpretations self evident in his mind.

"You will know how to when you make your choice. That's part of the magic here." Sylphia intones, then after a pause she continues. "You will not want to stay here when you complete the circle, This place will no longer be stable then. Keep yourself safe, and whatever happens.... Thank you."

yamikuronue

Siegfried gives her a warm smile, then kneels. He traces his hands through the dirt, outlining the rune, envisioning himself laying a row of blue Asphodels along the lines as he traces.

As Siegfried begins to trace the rune small blue flowers sprout behind his fingers in precisely the shape Siegfried imagines. The grass around the form turns green slowly, becoming more alive.

Back in the real world an electric tingle fills the air and the pressure drops sharply. Rumbles of thunder can be heard overhead. A light rain begins falling.

Other than the speed of the weather change the weather seems perfectly normal.

CalamityJade

Morden shivered a moment as he felt that. Something was happening. He didn't need to 'see' it to know. He had been rather calm, though now he stole a glance in Siegfried's direction, seeming nervous and anxious before looking back at the window. "Tell me...how much do you believe in coincidences."

yamikuronue

"Not at all," chimes in Vi happily. "I love storms, don't you?"

CalamityJade

"I am generally more of a fan of them when people I care about aren't performing unknown magical rituals." Morden gave a bit of a sigh. "Though that is not helpful. I am sure that things are progressing well."

accalia

Another roll of thunder overhead, this one almost managed to sound cheerful, excited. The rain becomes heavier, a steady downpour now.

Echo begins to hum, an unfamiliar tune, arrhythmic and hard to follow.

As Siegfried nears the completion of the rune the circle of flowers fades, revealing the glowing form of a circle drawn in pure magic and life force.

As the shape of the garden falls away so too does the form of Sylphia, her body collapsing into a softly glowing purple sphere.

The feeling of active magic permeates Siegfried, fierce, powerful, dangerous yet benevolent, ancient yet as ready to perform as the day the circle was laid.

yamikuronue

Siegfried steps back, not wanting to be too close just in case.

Vi, meanwhile, closes her eyes, almost rapturously, swaying along with the song.

CalamityJade

Morden backed away a little, not sure what was about to happen...but that it was probably going to be rather showy or possibly a little violent.

accalia

"Run! quickly now! and thank you!"

The voice of Sylphia echos out of the circle as Siegfried completes it. The circle closes with a snap and begins to work, glowing steadily brighter and brighter. In moments the center of the circle is lost in a crackling blue haze of raw energy, the glow begins extending outwards rapidly.

The ground outside the circle destabilizes, rippling and shaking, the disturbed area ending abruptly a pace or so behind Siegfried at the border of Echo's Aetherspace.

Echo's song is interrupted by a clap of thunder and a flash of light that shatters the window of the room. The sound of the rain and the occasional lightning strikes  become much more audible, and served to cover somewhat the source of the explosion.

The source of the explosion hovers above the chair, where Echo had been sitting at about chest height. Echo, and his paper cranes were gone, in his place a softly glowing something hovers in mid air, it's hard to see through the soft pink glow what the form is, but it is small, about a foot and half long, and maybe eight inches across in height and width.

The same song Echo had been humming radiates from the hovering form, a second voice joined with his in harmony. The song is still arrhythmic while at the same time being compelling, inviting the listener to linger longer to hear more. The melody is oddly comforting.

On the chair underneath is a folded piece of paper with two signatures on the outside. The first signature in a flowing script is "Sylphia Elemis", the second is  a barely legible scrawl that possibly reads "Elijah Heartwood" or then again might simply be the word "Echo"

yamikuronue

Siegfried's eyes snap open as he flees for the safety of his body. The storm seems to have knocked out the power; it's an odd sight he opens his eyes to, as fragments of glass from the window reflect the pink light around the room, and Vi seems to be dancing, her eyes closed, not minding the glass or the rain.

CalamityJade

Morden tried to blink his eyes as he tries to see. That...had been bright. He'd seen quite a few things but nothing that just...made him have to look away. As his vision and hearing returns, he realizes the song sounded...rather nice. "..I...believe that was outside all of my expected outcomes." He could hardly even tell WHAT he was seeing, let alone trying to make sense of what had happened.
