Tale as Old As Time [Finished]

Obsidian coughed a little as he tried getting some of these drapes open in the grand room. "Good GOD how does all this stuff accumulate without people around." He had managed getting the first couple of drapes open and now a fine haze of dust was filling the room.

Siegfried finishes the back room, bringing his bucket and rag into the main parlor. "Ready for the floors yet? Good morning, Echo," he says, cheerily.

[accalia]

"Morning Siegfried. The floors? oh yes. Let one move so you can get them."

Echo moves out of the way so Siegfried can work

"Everyone is doing well today one hopes. Nothing too untoward as a result of last night?"

[CalamityJade]

Obsidian frowned. "Almost ready, once I can breath for all the damn dust. This place is still too damn quiet, tho." The edge on his voice was...less strained. He seemed to have calmed down somewhat. "Any luck finding any of those other sets of drapes?"

Siegfried shakes his head. "We may have to buy more. I vaguely recall having to empty out an area of the basement that got flooded some years back and there was molding fabric, that might have been the curtains."

[accalia]

"Opening up the house then? that is good. there is nothing like sunlight for dispelling the darkness that clings to a place and broods."

[CalamityJade]

Obsidian kept pulling at one of the drapes that seemed to have snagged near the top. "Don't know about all THAT, but it sure as hell would be easier to make your way around this place if there was some light. Don't know what you're gonna do about the grounds, tho. I'm shit with plants."

Siegfried sighs. "It will take some expense, I think, to source seedlings enough to replenish the gardens. And with no money manager to grow our investments, it's really only the company holdings that have increased..."

[accalia]

"Most of the perennials should still be living. with care they should be able to be tamed again."

[CalamityJade]

"...right. Guess there used to be people doin that." Obsidian looked around this place. "Damn...used to complain about never having a moment to myself in this place."

[yamikuronue]

Siegfried smiles. "There's definitely plenty of solitude here."

[accalia]

"This one thinks the quiet is nice, still it will be nice to open the house... it's too dark as it stands."

[CalamityJade]

Obsidian finally pulls the drape loose enough to slide out, sending more dust into the air. "Gah...Jesus...might want to find...whatever the hell you use to clean these things."

Siegfried grabs the vacuum cleaner from the corner where he left it. "The vacuum, sir?"

Seeing the two men fully occupied echo returns to the task of tuning the piano.
