Siegfried flinches as Obsidian shouts. "I'm not saying..." he begins, then sighs. "It's time and past I sought my own employment anyway. If the Young Master wishes to terminate my employment here, I will not argue. " He had promised to wait and see how things fell, but still, he's pretty sure how Lance is feeling about the whole arrangement. If Lance never fires him, he'll stay, but...

CalamityJade

"And that's not the point. You KNOW that's not the point because you aren't stupid." Obsidian decided it was high time he DID have that seat. "You know damn well how my brother thought of you. If you didn't...then I'll tell you, he sure as hell didn't just see you as someone to get beat around because someone doesn't like reality. Shit happened, and while I still think it wasn't the RIGHT way of handling it, he tried to be right by you. He sure as hell wouldn't have stood for what happened to you earlier, so don't you even START thinking that he was right or I swear I will beat that fact into your skull."

Morden sighed slightly. "And always so quick to jump at the soonest excuse for advancement. Makes keeping track of all the mistakes almost as bad as the mistakes themselves."

accalia

Julie: And of course any failing of their plans isn't their fault! it's always the fault of their accountant!

Echo shifts uncomfortably on the stool. He looks like he's trying to think of something to say but not finding a point to insert into the conversation.

yamikuronue

Siegfried is about to answer when Lance walks into the kitchen. "Who's beating who?" he asks, in a jovial tone.

Siegfried swallows. "Nobody, sir. Was dinner to your liking?"

Lance shrugs. "It was fine. We need two guest rooms made up."

CalamityJade

Obsidian gave Siegfried a look before turning to Lance. "Anyone who get's stubborn seeing sense, mostly. So, those two are sticking around?" That could be..problematic, but nothing to worry about for now. If his guess was right, then Echo was quite good at meddling.

Morden chuckled. "Of course...and then they complain that it didn't work out entirely like you planned. Because if I could see into the future, I'd be spending my days as a consultant and accountant?"

accalia

Julie: true, but then if i could see the future i... well let's just say i wouldn't have this life. Not sure where i would end up, but it wouldn't be here.

Echo had stood when Lance entered and bows deeply. After the bow Echo stays silent, merely looking attentive.

yamikuronue

Siegfried sighs wearily, getting up from his spot. "I'll go prepare... hmm. Well, I'll figure out where to put them, anyway. By your leave."

Lance rolls his eyes. "We have a billion rooms, just pick some."

CalamityJade

Obsidian stared at Lance. "....you realize almost NONE of them have been cleaned in over a year, right? You know, when you sealed yourself in your room and cut contact with everyone? So it's probably dusty allergy traps that the person in charge of keeping this place clean wouldn't want people to sleep in."

Morden chuckled. "Quite...Though I've found there's a good chance that SOME things will always happen. It's just how some people are put together suppose. I, for one, have a nasty habit of dabbling in several things rather than working on just one skill. It's helped my clients many times, but makes for...awkward conversation...like how I noticed both you and our host seem to share a similar allergy."

accalia

Julie: Hmm? You noticed that too? Perceptive. The allergy is not unique. i wonder what the master's story is there.

"this one knows that Julie at least would prefer a simple room. This one would offer one's room for the night. It is a small thing, and would serve all well this one judges."

yamikuronue

Lance snorts. "What am I paying a maid for then, if the cleaning doesn't get done?"

Siegfried shakes his head. "I can get rooms prepared, it's no trouble. I'll turn over two of the servant's quarters, that's a good idea, they're smaller and thus easier to prepare... if you don't think they'd be offended?"

CalamityJade

Morden shrugged. "I could think of a couple, and all of them could be a little dangerous...so I should probably do enough work to garner my wages before I start throwing out theories...besides which, only one makes a good deal of sense and I'm only partially equipped to handle such a thing."

Obsidian blinked at that a few moments...before he stood, took two steps and an actual swing at Lance.

yamikuronue

Lance, surprised, is knocked back a bit as he stumbles to keep his feet, but he responds rapidly, darting forward with an uppercut to his uncle's chin.

accalia

Echo moves quickly, after a blurred moment Echo is standing between Obsidian and Lance. His palm intercepts Lance's punch and he grunts in pain at the impact, but the hand is unmoved.

"Fighting is not the way. this one ask you to stop. please."

Julie: As can I, but i'll not speak of them for fear of spreading untruth...... whoops... there they go..... and stopped? hmmmmm... I wonder where Echo did get off to.

CalamityJade

Obsidian had already been moving back to avoid the blow, so was a tad bit surprised to see Echo suddenly in between them. The look was short lived and quickly replace with one of anger. "No, let him go. If he wants to run his mouth like no one's gonna care, then he'll have to learn where the line is."

Morden blinked a couple of times. "I..wouldn't know. How is it that you can hear that?" In truth, Morden wasn't entirely sure WHAT was going on, but there was some kind of commotion in the direction their host had gone in.

accalia

Echo's remains open, not trapping Lance's hand rather merely blocking it.

"Even so, this is not the time. There are guests in the house that need not get involved in this dispute. This one asks that you both set this matter aside for now, and revisit at some later time.

Julie: When one has acute hearing to start with and then trains their hearing beyond that the limits of hearing are such that many would not suspect.
