"...then it's concerning that you would, and then not remember it." Obsidian scratches his chin. "Or...CAN you remember it. I mean whatever it was you were cursed with. You're sure that this has nothing to do with it?"

[accalia]

"This one's curse... That this one remembers well..."

Echo's baritone drops a register into a rumbling, sonorous bass.

"May you wander o'er the ages, from battle to battle, from pain to pain. You shall take the pain into yourself and the injury. These you shall heal until the day that you have healed all the pain that you have caused, until the day that you have paid for your failure. Your lifepartner lies dead, with your sword in her chest, This you shall pay for. This you shall pay..... forevermore."

After speaking echo lapses into a brief coughing fit before continuing.

"Hmm... loses a bit in translation mind you, and the actual curse goes on for quite a lot longer, but that's about the gist of it."

Obsidian blinked a few moments at that. "Well..that's pretty fucking serious curse." he shakes his head. "But I think you're getting cheated out. How the hell are you supposed to make up a life. It just can't happen."

[accalia]

"This one has long thought the same. But as the one who cursed this one is now long ages dead, the only release will be to fulfil the conditions of the curse."

Obsidian scratched his chin. "Ever had someone actually take a look at the curse?" And how the hell old IS this guy? "At least see if it actually matters how much rather than the severity."

[accalia]

"this one has tried, several times over the years. But so far..... nothing."

[CalamityJade]

Obsidian nodded a little. "...Right...well, if everything you've said is true, no wonder you're such a meddler." He was quiet for a few moments. "You did good, even if you were stupid about how you did it. Seriously, just because you CAN take something like that, doesn't mean you should.

[accalia]

"Can the sunflower choose not to point towards the sun? Can the fish choose to live on land? No more can this one choose to be something other than what this one is. This one is compelled, by a force stronger than death, to do what the curse wills, what this one wills... Can it be any other way?"

"And if you could have waited about half a minute more, you could do what the curse willed and.." He sighed. "Never mind. I'm probably just bitching because of everything else going on. You might just want to rest for a while, and we'll try to avoid any more accidents

[accalia]

"That would be preferable. If you could arrange to have any possible accidents within arms reach this one would appreciate it. from the feel of things it will be a while before this one is ambulatory again."

And with that Echo drifts off into a troubled sleep and a soft scratching can be heard from the kitchen door

Obsidian yawned before standing and heading for the sound. Might as well let the lady back in, after all." He moved to the door, opening it. "I hope things went well."

[accalia]

Julie stands outside covered on drying red blood and dark brown mud. her fur is tangled and matted with several twigs still stuck in it.

Julie: I haven't run like that in years. I lost animal control about ten, no fifteen miles east of here. should be an interesting piece in the paper tomorrow. Now which way to a bath? I'm going to need one of those before i change back.

Obsidian smirked a little. "Don't know if it's big enough for how you are now, but there's some showers by the  guest rooms that you can probably make use of." He couldn't help but chuckle. "I won't bother insulting you by asking about the blood."

[accalia]

Julie: i needed to be convincing, so I spread around the blood from the one Lance had already killed. The cops showed up, saw me. took a few shots and i lead them on a merry chase. other than a couple of bruises from being overenthusiastic in the woods at night no one new was hurt.

Julie moves as if to shake herself dry and stops just before starting.

Julie: Damn the bitch is strong tonight. If you could turn the water on in one of the showers i'll take it from there.

Obsidian SHOULD have the decency not to laugh...though he couldn't help the chuckle that he gave at realizing what Julie was getting ready to do. "H...heh. Sure. Probably better than waiting to see if you could do on you're own." Not that he'd be mean enough for that. "Good to know that worked out. Everyone here seems to either be sleeping, recovering, or both."
