Lance scowls at him. "You came because I made a bit of a fuss when I noticed Siegfried," he snaps, trying to act casual as he frantically pieces together what must have occurred. Obsidian said there was howling, so he must have shifted and thrown a tantrum. Aren't wolves supposed to be fucking silent?

Siegfried was injured, and Lance wasn't, so the shooting must have wounded him, not Lance. That would explain the shifting -- he doesn't handle shock well, but injury's old hat. He must have.... somehow got Siegfried back to the house. Oh shit, did I bite him? Is that where the blood came from? "I had the situation under control without your fucking help."

"Right..." This was getting a little...odd. how the hell was he answering any of this if he obviously didn't remember everything. He would have mentioned the other two if he did so....maybe he should see how bad it actually was. "Didn't look like it. After a, you kind of left a lot of evidence. A lot of DEAD evidence."

Lance snorts, even as his face betrays him by paling a few shades. Oh shit. How many of them did I kill? Oh fuck, oh shit, holy fuck.

"Whatever. Nothing the cops ain't seen before. Thugs die every day."

"Normally, yeah...but they were a bit out of the usual area...oh, and one of them looks like a dog tried to eat them, so they're probably a little jumpy." Obsidian sighed. He should just lie...just lie his ass off and see how he reacted, but that wasn't in him. "Lance, quit bullshitting me. I know you don't remember what happened."

"I do so!" He crosses his arms tightly. "I'm just a little fuzzy on the finer details."

"Lance, do you even know how you got back here?"

"Walked." He levels a glare, meeting Obsidian's eyes.

"Aand....nothing sticks out about that walk? Not one thing?" Obsidian glared right back.

"Say what you're trying to say, old man. I got shit to do."

Obsidian looked really pissed. "You know what....sure. You're a selfish ass that can't pull his head up for air long enough to at least admit he doesn't know what's going on and now I have to talk to the police, so asking you if you know what happened is a waste of time."

Lance snorts. "Great. Glad we had this chat."

It doesn't matter what he thinks of me, he tells himself. It's kinder than the truth, anyway. Still, he can't help but wonder if his father would have reviled him for the same reasons had he lived. But if Father had lived, I'd not be a werewolf, and I wouldn't be sneaking out anyway.

"Great. Pull your ass out of here and go eat. Might as well get used to entertaining guests when you have them." He starts to turn so he can level. If the kid wasn't going to tell him the truth even when they BOTH know what was being said was a lie, then he had better things to do right now.

He snorts. "As if. See you at dinner."

"Yeah, well, it's thanks to them that Siegfried is alive, so you better the hell at least show the fuck up."

That...actually shuts him up. His hand trembles; he shoves it deeper against his chest, willing it still.

"He... is okay, right?" he asks, his voice softening a little.
