Siegfried gently strokes Echo's arm. "Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like to serve someone who wants the help instead of shutting me out."

"Well, if you only served people that wanted the help, you would find yourself with very few to serve." Morden put a hand on his shoulder.

[yamikuronue]

"Fair," he says, leaning into Morden's touch.

[CalamityJade]

"I believe the trick to it is to find a way to feel wanted without relying on those you serve." He chuckled. "Believe me when I say not many enjoy the company of accountants. We're known for being quite dull."

[yamikuronue]

Siegfried smiles. "When you're born to a life of service like mine, there's no better feeling than helping someone reach their potential. Gratitude is a perk."

[CalamityJade]

"I imagine it's a rather nice perk." Morden rubs Siegfried's shoulder. "For instance, I plan to show my gratitude by spending time trying to get you to relax, hopefully with me, for a couple of days. Wether it's accounting or serving, one has to find balance between the two."

Sigfried's smile deepens, as he lets out a soft hum. "That does sound nice."

"Splendid. Hopefully you won't be as stubborn about it as your charge tends to be."

Obsidian would have noticed right away; Siegfried noticed slower, only as he began to stretch his mind again after being on the cramped airplane. Morden, however, picks up on their tail only as she's sitting in the hotel lobby. While they're checking in, he happens to glance around and notice a teenager with a ballcap shading her eyes, reading a vampire romance novel -- the same teenager and novel that had been in the airport when they landed and, unnoticed by him, on the plane a few rows back.

Morden is a little intrigued by that. He wasn't accustomed to being followed, especially while on business. As they're checking in, Morden attempts to get Siegfried's attention. ~Well, hopefully this experiment is successful. Siegfried, can you hear my thoughts?~

Siegfried blushes faintly. "sorry," he says, starting to pull back mentally.

[CalamityJade]

~No, wait! I don't mind, but I wanted to know if you realized that young woman is following us...also you could just ask how I feel about you.~ The end was somewhat mirthful in tone.

[yamikuronue]

~I was practicing.~ That said, he reaches out to brush her mind... and about falls over in surprise, rubbing at his temples.

Morden attempts to catch Siegfried when he stumbles. "Easy there. Thankfully we're almost to the room after all that flying."  ~Are you alright?~

~That girl is not human,~ he chokes out mentally, keeping his lips shut.
