yamikuronue

"I was hoping I could engender some measure of trust before I start pissing it away on stupid-sounding metaphysics," she says, a bit taken aback.

accalia

"Then we should talk straight, For this one at least this game of twenty questions does nothing to build trust."

Echo sighs

"Unless you think this is necessary?"

CalamityJade

"I'm imagining that the name came to you from another...or at least a trusted source." Morden gave the conversation another turn in his head. "But if you want trust...I believe sometimes you have to risk being untrusted yourself. At the very least I do not see what you could have lied about in this small conversation and would listen to what you have to say."

yamikuronue

Vi sighs, then puts the glass back down.

"The one that sends me sends her instructions by way of dreams. It's very difficult to sort out what is true and what is allegory. For example ,you showed up as a dragon," she says, gesturing to Morden.

accalia

Echo raises an eyebrow in surprise, but otherwise doesn't react. he seems to be waiting to see if Vi will dig her hole deeper or start trying to climb out of it.

During the conversation most of Echo's visible scars have faded to near invisiblity, except for one that appears to have been caused by a sword that starts above his hairline and drops across one eye, along his cheek, and sown his neck. The scar has the look of a wound that was caused by a mortal blow, or one that was all but mortal.

CalamityJade

"That's a rather...interesting statement. Definitely not the most baseless accusation I've ever had." Though that wasn't a denial of the fact. And he did give a slight smile. "So there was an abstract. What else can you tell us about it, and how did you manage to know you'd found the right people?"

yamikuronue

She closes her eyes, thinking carefully before she speaks.

"There was a war," she says, softly. "A war between beings of phenomenal power. A war so long ago it's been forgotten in the history of time. There was a survivor -- a being locked in an eternal struggle, the being I suspect is your friend here. There was to be a servant and a dragon, those were the signs to look for. The key was the name Sylphia."

accalia

"That explains... well not much really, how did you turn that description into identifying this group, given that you were following is for some time before you got confirmation of the name."

yamikuronue

"Part of the dream sort of imprints a.... a recognition, if you will. As soon as I saw your particular web of connections using my power, I knew you were the ones from my dream. I couldn't have picked you out of a photo lineup, but I can now."

CalamityJade

"Not a terrible ability." Morden was rather curious. "And these dreams are sent by something?"

yamikuronue

"They're sent by the One I Serve," she says, with a shrug. "The Violet Lady. I don't know much about her, just that I was hand-picked to be her hands on Earth."

accalia

"Then what do you know? if not about the lady then about your current task?"

CalamityJade

"And these dreams are a constant occurance, or something that has picked up in recent times?" Morden gave a bit of a sigh. "Sorry....Please answer Echo's question." He had to hold back the slight bit of curiosity he had to the situation, despite finding it VERY different and interesting.

yamikuronue

"I've had them as long as I can remember. I know that I'm here to free the one who is trapped, to undo what was done, to break down the status quo. That's generally what I'm used for. The Violet Lady hates stagnation."

accalia

"Do you know how you are supposed to accomplish this feat?"

Despite his reservation Echo sounds curious and hopeful.
