Tale as Old As Time [Finished]

Siegfried reaches for his hand, wishing to give Echo some small comfort. "Do you know what you must do? Can you tell me?"

[accalia]

"I must right the wrong i did... I tried, but it was not the way to do it...."

[yamikuronue]

"No; hurting yourself won't bring her back. But I'm starting to see a picture here..." He hesitates, then sighs. "You have to right the wrong, and meanwhile, you have someone or something else in your head. Are you certain the wrong was failing to protect her and not something more.... " he gestures, helplessly.

[accalia]

"It....probably was.... but there's a wall, in my head, I can't see beyond it. I think the memory of that is behind that wall."

[yamikuronue]

Siegfried nods. "I could try again to pierce it..."

[accalia]

"Again?"

Echo is puzzled and somewhat alarmed.

[CalamityJade]

"I...have you made contact with whoever it was we were talking to before?" Morden turned his attention to Siegfried, looking quite interested.

[yamikuronue]

Siegfried shakes his head. "I attempted it, but only endangered myself."

[accalia]

Echo looks like he's panicking

"But the wall is impenetrable! it's the wall! that's what it's for, keeping something on the inside safe!"

Suddenly Echo stops and the other voice speaks through him for a moment.

"A wall works both ways, can't enter, can't leave... can see out, can touch.... can't leave."

Echo staggers slightly as the other presence leaves him, but doesn't appear to notice, instead continuing in his panicked voice as if nothing had happened.

"The wall is there to keep things safe! it's not safe to cross it!"

[yamikuronue]

"Or to keep something trapped. Maybe..." he hesitates. "It's hard to lose someone you care for, but maybe you've done her a disservice, trying to keep her too close, too safe?"

[accalia]

"I.... I would never!..... no... wouldn't!"

Despite the vehemence of his protests in this manner Echo seems less than 100% certain

[yamikuronue]

"Wouldn't you?" asks Vi, softly. "If there was a way to keep her safe, where she'd never be hurt again, never die again, just be safe and with you... wouldn't you take it? To spare her pain, wouldn't you do anything?"

Siegfried glances at Vi sideways, not wanting to say what's on his mind. She didn't seem like she was someone capable of that kind of all-consuming love, but she seems to understand it...

[CalamityJade]

"It is, after all, in our nature to want to protect those that we care about, even more so if you believe they could be taken from you."

[accalia]

"Would protect.... yes.... failed... hurt instead... This one must correct this, but one does not know how.... Must fix the wrong."

[yamikuronue]

"You'll have to let her go," says Siegfried, softly.
