"I don't know...maybe whatever it is wants you to break the circle...that could also be tricky since I didn't get the feeling that Echo even had a circle on him, so why put it there in the first place."

"Might have to talk to Siegfried. I know he's been tryin to figure Echo out longer than I've known the guy."

Vi sighs. "It's rough, because if Echo catches wind of us talking about the sub-persona, he'll shut down entirely. But if he's unaware of it going on around him, sub-persona can communicate in bits and bursts. I'm really tempted to just slap some headphones on him and play him some music or something.... actually, I wonder if that would work. I've got some really interesting stuff on my phone..."

"If it's just sending information out and not actually needing to hear what your saying then that should work. though it might be difficult to get him to go along with it without him knowing that's what you're doing and then noticing it."

Vi nods. "Right. Anything else or shall I go enact our brilliant plan?"

[CalamityJade]

"Just one. Don't make me regret this conversation." O gave a small sigh. "And you might want to keep from trying anything out that this 'other half' writes out in the future in case reading it could kill you."

[yamikuronue]

"Yeah, fair enough. Ciao!"

A short time later, she's back in the room, holding a can of soda and flipping through her phone. "Echo, I've got some music I want you to hear... It's a song called Paper Boats, it's totally your theme song."

Echo looks up from his folding, a impressive pile of cranes has appeared next to him and the pad of paper he was working on is substantially thinner.

"Paper boats floating on an azure sea / floating in the breeze / would that i could be there / sailing in a paper boat on an azure sea."

Echo pauses for a moment then comments. "That lost more in translation than i expected..."

"Yeah, actually, almost exactly like that. Only this one's more, paper boats floating on a stream / and it may seem / we'll never be apart." She sings the last bit, as she pulls out headphones and plugs them into her phone.

Morden followed in after Vi, giving Siegfried a momentarily concerned look, but he did manage to keep from going into his usual habit of trying to question what they may or may not have noticed. AT least until Echo is adequately distracted.

"hmm... different tune.... Alright, If you think it important." Echo agrees, reaching politely for the headset.

Vi cranks up the volume, starting the music as he gets the headphones on. She then turns to Siegfried.

"We think it'll be easier to talk to his secondary this way. To recap, phone guy says the circle's probably dangerous, and we should verify but probably the circle exists in Echo's aether space and needs to be broken."

Siegfried frowns. "His aether space is.... difficult to find, and almost impossible to navigate safely."

"...well fuck." replies Vi. She then gets a thoughtful expression, but shakes her head. "No, bad idea. Anyway. So we're back to square one?"

"His aether space....you have been there before, correct? What was the space like? Was there anything of note that you remember? And what makes the space so dangerous?"

"Well, it tried to kill me," he says, rubbing the back of his neck. "There was a voice, pleading for me to leave, and then I got out just before it turned hostile. It seemed to be a timed function."
