Tale as Old As Time [Finished]

Vi rolls her eyes. "Spoilsport. Anyway. I'll be in touch, yeah?"

"Hopefully in more subtle ways." Morden looked around the room. "This is already going to be rather difficult to explain."

[yamikuronue]

She smiles and vanishes in a flurry of violet sparkles.... leaving the pair of lovers, a dead body, and a baby.

"Well. This has been.... eventful," Siegfried manages to choke out. "I suppose I'd better change our flight..."

As it turns out, flying with a baby requires a whole bunch of gear the pair don't have. Car seats, strollers, bottles, formula, and diapers are easy enough to come by, but birth certificates, adoption papers, and the like are a little trickier. Thankfully, the train is less strict about what is required, so Siegfried is able to cancel their flight and book a train instead.

The best thing about train travel is that it gives plenty of time to reflect on their situation. Of course, that shit's boring, so instead, they find themselves circling back to the idea of a name again and again.

"Muriel, for my sister? Or Aldrea, for my stepmom?"

"There is also the matter of her parentage...Sylphia....I imagine Elijah is out for several reasons." Morden had been somewhat quiet for parts of this, his mind working over the events...granted, Siegfried tended to pull him out of most of his thought loops. "Or something new, symbolic of being outside of a cycle."

[yamikuronue]

"Freedom is a terrible name for a baby, and I'm not sure we should burden her with our newfound goddess' name.... how about Grace?"

[CalamityJade]

"Hmmm...." Morden scratches his chin a little. "Grace...it's a rather nice name." Morden blinked a second. "And why on earth would we ever name a child Freedom. We might as well name her after a country at that point."

[yamikuronue]

"America!" he teases. "How do you like that, baby America?"

[CalamityJade]

"If she had any sense, she'd spit up on you." Morden shuddered a little. That had NOT been a pleasant experience. Sure, it was relatively easy to clean off of him, but that didn't mean it didn't FEEL very uncomfortable.

"Unless we want to go with Virginia, I think we've more or less settled on Grace...?" he says, turning his gaze back to the babe cradled in his arms.

"Wonderful name...though that might require a tower." Wait...WAS that a joke?

[yamikuronue]

"A  tower?" he asks, tilting his head.

[CalamityJade]

"...Virginia sounds like a princess name."

[yamikuronue]

"Oh!" he smiles faintly. "I suppose so."

[CalamityJade]

"Though I doubt I will have to worry about hoards or knights for quite some time." Morden gave somewhat of a smile in Grace's direction. "Still, this was definitely a very...interesting vacation."

"Definitely interesting."

Speaking of 'interesting', later that day, Lance is astonished to learn that a, he has a phone, and b, it sometimes rings.  He stares at the landline in the kitchen, dumbfounded, wondering who the hell would be calling him?
