"I don't believe he actually wanted to be alone. At least not truly. He may have thought he HAD to be, but not that he wanted to. And of everyone, you've stuck by him, and I would hope that he would not treat you terribly simply because you are trying to care for a child."

"You don't know him very well, do you?" he asks, with a faint smile.

"Possibly not, what I HAVE figured out that your uncle is more inclined to keeping you around than he might." He moved a hand around Siegfried's waist. "I worry about you. I don't want you to burn yourself out without at least trying to stop it."

"I've been doing this for my entire adult life. I know what i'm doing."

"But you only had to take care of yourself. Have you taken care of a child before?"

[yamikuronue]

"No," he admits.

[CalamityJade]

"So then, you admit that this is an unknown amount of strain that you are putting yourself under." Morden paused. "Do you think that I would do badly at caring for a child?"

He sighs. "If I let you care for Grace at night, would you cease complaining about my other duties?"

"Only as long as you take care of yourself, then yes. They ARE your duties and I understand needing to fulfill them. Just...try not to do everything on your own that isn't directly tied to them, alright?"

"In your opinion, what are my duties?"

"To live your own life." Julie replies entering the room again, her hair still wet from a hurried shower. 'That seems a pretty important duty to me."

"As far as I know? Looking after the household, which you can't do if you tire yourself out too much."

[yamikuronue]

"I don't get paid for living," says Siegfried, with a weary smile. "My job is to ensure that the household runs smoothly. There is no part of this estate that is not under my purview."

"Are you not allowed to delegate?" Julie asks simply, she's plainly curious. "I mean, it's a huge estate, surely you don't mean to say it is your job to personally perform every action required to make this household run smoothly?"
