The Family [Finished]

"And you're definitely my type as well. So there's no problem." she proclaims.

[accalia]

"Uhh.... what?" Tony offers, no, there very much is a problem, but he can't tell Kate what it is without losing his important secret.

[yamikuronue]

She laughs. "Relax. Even I don't put out on the first date," she teases.

[accalia]

"Why?" Tony asks. He intends it to mean "Why me?" and it takes him a moment to realize that Kate's likely to see another question in there, one he very much does NOT intend.  "Oh! I don't mean it that way! I mean i wouldn't think of you as a... i wouldn't ask you to! That's not what i meant!"

[yamikuronue]

She laughs at him, turning onto a side street. "I like you," she admits. "Have for a while. I didn't think you'd go for this date, but I'm glad you did."

[accalia]

"I'm not sure why I didn't say no." Tony admits. 'Dating, marriage, they're not really options for me."

[yamikuronue]

"How sad," she says, with a shrug. "I'm not going to twist your arm. If you don't want to date, that's fine. But I don't see why we can't enjoy ourselves now, and worry about the long term later."

[accalia]

"Sad, yeah. My fault of course." Tony muses "But for today, Today let's have fun and forget about what cannot be tomorrow."

[yamikuronue]

"Indeed. Besides, we have more in common than you think," she muses.

[accalia]

"Do tell?" Tony's still not processing at full capacity or he never would have asked such a dangerous question.

[yamikuronue]

"I haven't set foot in a church in years either," she comments, with a wicked grin. Not to mention we're both attracted to women, she doesn't add.

[accalia]

"Oh." Tony mutters, missing that there was something left unsaid. For someone who is as good as he is about seeing what people don't want him seeing he can be remarkably dense at seeing what people want him to see.... "Well, i guess if there's lightning there's a fifty/fifty shot at which one of us buys it?"

[yamikuronue]

Kate smiles wistfully, thinking of Anna. "I'd say greater than even odds I'm the one who gets hit." Right in the tongue.

[accalia]

That get's Tony's attention. "How do you figure? I mean I renounced my faith over twenty five years ago, and stopped showing up to service as soon as i could no longer be forced to attend. What could you have done that's worse than that? .... umm.... if you don't mind? I'll shut up if you'd prefer......"

[yamikuronue]

"Let's just say I've been very... experimental of late." She pulls into the parking lot of a small white church, finding a spot fairly quickly and putting the car in park.
