The Family [Finished]

Tony manages to gather some sens of control and rises from a kneeling position as Vic opens the front door.

Kate smiles, as Vic steps out of the way. "Hi, Vic. Is Ton-- hey, Tony," she says as she spots him, lifting a box in one hand. "I  was wondering if you wanted to do coffee? I brought a coffee cake."

Vic mouths at Tony, "Girlfriend"

Tony scrambles to get to the kitchen to put on some coffee, blushing fiercely "Coffee, yes. that sounds like a wonderful idea." He says as his brain processes Vic's mouthed comment. When the lightbulb finally lights Tony bobbles the carafe from the coffee maker and drops it to the floor with a smash.

Kate jumps at the sound; Vic interposes himself between Kate and Tony until he realizes what happened.

"S-sorry," he mumbles, turning to flee the room.

Kate blinks at him, then moves toward the kitchen. "Are you hurt? Do you need a hand?"

Tony hasn't moved since the glass smashed "Vic! Would you get the broom from the cupboard? this floors a bit unsafe to be walking on without shoes right now." he calls to Vic as he exits the room. "Sorry Kate, seems I'm a bit of a butterfingers right now. I don't suppose Tea would work as a substitute?"

"Tea is fine," she says with a chuckle. "How's your day going?"

Vic comes back a moment later with the broom and dustpan, holding them out to Tony across the glass.

[accalia]

"Been a busy day, Just waiting for the third thing to break today." Tony says as he sweeps the  broken glass into a pile "Thank you Vic, Can you get one of the cardboard boxes from the garage for this glass?"

Vic nods, heading for the garage.

Kate raises an eyebrow. "What else broke?"

[accalia]

"The couch i've been using as a bed finally gave up the ghost." Tony says, using the broom to hook a pair of shoes over to him and slipping them on, just in case he missed a piece of glass.

[yamikuronue]

She raises an eyebrow. "Seems... inconvenient." she purrs.

[accalia]

"Very much so. I'll actually have to start using the master bedroom." Tony says complaining with great bitterness.

[yamikuronue]

"I can think of a few advantages to beds," she teases, keeping that seductive undertone.

[accalia]

"I am sure you can. We have black tea or dudty mystery tea bag, which would you like?" Tony asks trying furiously to change teh subject while wondering wehre Vic went, Don't leave me here alone vic!

Kate drops the act, looking concerned. "Seriously -- are you alright?"

[accalia]

"You know me kate, Taking one day at a time, living for now not the future. I'm fine, and in another week or so i'll be fully healed. too."
