"Speaking of..." Tony says 'I can't help but wonder how IA got the information they did to move so fast. I know none of the men under him would have talked, and none of the night shift would have put things together as little time as they spent in the office during the day.... so?"

[yamikuronue]

She holds up her hands in protest. "I didn't know he'd turn up that dirty. I just dropped a couple of anonymous hints -- the way he talked to me, it was clear he'd had indiscretions in the past."

[accalia]

"Should have guessed. And i'm sure you put a good word in for me as well?"

[yamikuronue]

She shakes her head. "Why bother? You're the obvious choice."

[accalia]

"Hmph. of course I am. I'm the only one who doesn't want the job. so I'm the only one whop won't abuse it."

[yamikuronue]

"And so it goes. Try being more corrupt next time," she teases.

[accalia]

"And end up like Ex-Captain White? No."

[yamikuronue]

"You could go for an office job. You'd make a cute mailboy."

[accalia]

Tony's only response is to glare unamusedly at Kate.

"I could just see it now: sorting all the letters, fetching coffee, kissing up to every Sir that walks in..."

[accalia]

"I ain't no brown nose."

[yamikuronue]

"Aww, but it'd be so cute watching you try to hold in your feelings."

[accalia]

"Cute? What would be cute about me snapping and breaking a nose or two?"

[yamikuronue]

"You'd be surprised," she says, with a smile.

Tony bristles slightly at that and answers unwisely. "Surprise me then."
