Go Down

Varric

"...I was thinking sexual interest but..." Varric murmurs. But then again... sh- uh, Seeker always got worse when they gendered us. That swimming outing was probably the worst I saw the entire time and I saw the outfits they were making everyone wear. "Seeker," he says sharply, moving to knee next to the samsaran. "I need you to list prime numbers. Out loud if you can, but inside your head is fine if that's all you can do. It's safe here, no-one will hurt you."

Haliel Lightsong

"Just..?" Lightsong prompts Carol gently.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Helene Dakesh

"Two," she whispers. "Three, five, seven." (I'm not a girl. I'm not.) I'm female. Say, 'I am a girl'. Say, 'Miss Helene'. Say, 'Where is the little girls' room' (I'm not)

"Seven," she whispers, again. "Eleven, thirteen. I am Miss Helene Dakesh. I am-- I am Miss Helene Dakesh, Seeker of Alydra. How do you do," she adds, swallowing hard. "When I was a little girl I was called fille but now I am Miss Helene."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Carver Amell

"Just tired," whispers Carol. "Will you help me set up my sleeping bag?"

Marian Hawke

Marian stares at Helene in open horror. And that's... me? I'm like this? Rocking and saying nonsense and-- no wonder she went to that treatment center. But... but... Seeker is... Why is she reacting like this? Why is she freaking out and saying her name over and over?
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"Hey, hey, none if that now. None of us will hurt you or punish you Seeker." That part of their identity is safe at least. "You know, we never did finish that lecture on modes of address generational drift. Left off with catfolk plains tribe and their use of Bright versus deity specific titles."

Haliel Lightsong

"... I shall. But know you can speak with me on whatever matter it is the troubles you." The aasimar offers a smile and rises to her feet.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Helene Dakesh

Helene shakes their head, in short, jerky motions. "I am Miss Helene," they repeat. "Quiet hands. Still body."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"You are Seeker Helene who ws Dakesh who was Avanti who was Eden. You are an Oracle of Alydra, Twice-Burdened and Twice Respected. You are a pupil of Greybeard and a renowned expert in both linguistics and divination." Varric shrugs a bit, eyes intense. "Alyda doesn't have a gender so I don't see why They would give two shites about yours?"

Helene Dakesh

"Quiet hands," they urge, insistent.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"Really doubt They care about that either. But I will defer to... Hey, paladin and pavitra, any word on whether Alydra cares if people fidget or fret with their hands?"

Haliel Lightsong

Pausing a moment with the bedroll half spread, Lightsong blinks. "Ah... Not that I have heard, no? Not... any of the deities actually. Perhaps Ere'lyn? Or Junon in some circumstances, or the Bitch?"
I am the Light of My Soul.

Vigile

"Hmm. A most unusual question. I cannot recall any such prohibition either, though I must confess most of my familiarity is in regards to HE-THAT-IS-VANGAL and SHE-THAT-IS-ASTEA."
I, His-paws-are-silent-but-his-growl-is-fierce-in-defense-of-the-righteous, sworn to the service of the Vigilant Protector, HE-THAT-IS-VANGAL.  Or Táchosadhachtáfháslógíocharigcosainadílis for short.

Helene Dakesh

Helene shakes their head once more. "Be a good girl," she whispers, still rocking. "Quiet hands. Be a good girl. No biting."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"Seeker, you're not there. You're safe. You can move and talk as you like. It's fine. Take a deep breath and remember where you aren't." Prefer not to get bit but not gonna chide, uh, them? Right now.
