yamikuronue

"I'm sure it will work out," he says, managing a smile.

CalamityJade

Harriet smiled. "That's a good way to think." She gave a bit of a smile. "I'll get a vase for all these flowers...though why brought THIS many?"

yamikuronue

"It has to be ballet fans." Idly, he reaches for the card on one of them, checking the name... Nope, he doesn't know any L Roidmets. "Patrons."

CalamityJade

"PAtron...is that a fancy word for a fan? Must have a lot of lady fans, then."

yamikuronue

"Oh yes. For some reason, the ladies are fond of me from afar. This one is probably... Lynette, or Linda."

CalamityJade

"Oh! A card?" Harriet moved closer to take a look. "L...Roidmet?" She blinked a couple of times. "The Roidmet HEIR is a patron of yours?!"

yamikuronue

"I don't know," he says, smiling. "Who is the Roidmet heir?"

CalamityJade

"You don't recogize it?! They'er one of the most famous Welcomed Families! You see their trucks all over town goin one place to another!" Harriet looked between the note and Nathaniel. "How do you know Lance Roidmet?"

yamikuronue

"I've never met her," he says, unruffled. "I suppose she was at the show where I..." His smile finally fades.

CalamityJade

"Um...I don't know if he was at the last show before you came here, but...you do realize Lance is a man...though I guess of interesting tastes. Not many men like dancing outside of the sheets."

yamikuronue

"Oh! A man. I'm sorry, of course." He smiles.

CalamityJade

Harriet gave a smile. "Doesn't hurt me none. Whoever you bed is your own business, I'd say." With that, she excused herself to continue her rounds....interesting woman, that.

So, Rob had made some headway. They knew a little about who Obsidian Roidmet had been meeting with and what they discussed. The symbol on those jackets of the kidnappers had been on old ruins, so that was something very different. And then there was Erika. She had told him what had happened. It was a fantastic tale. The idea that someone could 'fake' being Welcomed seemed suspect, but it didn't seem that Erika thought so. Now, all he had to do was decide on where to start.

Hammer Sister

Rob had taken Erika to a nearby coffee shop to plan their next move; he figured that would be a better location than staying in the museum itself. Erika had shown considerable wariness of the Keystone exhibit, and had gotten rather animated over the engine; that, coupled with her tale, was a big red flag to Rob. Normally, he'd make his excuses and continue on his own, so as not to be distracted from the job at hand, but there was something that kept him from doing so. Was it the same something that had caused him to approach her at the Bazaar? Maybe.

Personal matters could wait until the evening though; right now, Rob has an investigation to continue.

Rob finishes reviewing all his notes, and thinking through all the options available to him and Erika. "OK, I've gone over all the options available to us, and there are three avenues we can pursue. First, the old ruins; that's where Harrisberg saw the crest, and even if we can't get into the ruins themselves, we can at least see who's monitoring the area. Second, Mordriana; however, I haven't yet heard if she's out of her coma or not. And third, Harrox and the 'faking Welcomed' deal you struck with him; as much as I want to help you there, it would distract me from my investigation. And I don't want to get on the wrong side of the GRD; that could end badly for both of us. So, on balance, all things considered, I think our most prudent next move is to investigate the old ruins."

Rob closes his notebook and pockets it. "Do you agree that's the best choice to make? Or is there something you feel I've overlooked?"

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

Erika nods. "I don't feel... look, given my condition, and my general lack of expertise, aren't you concerned I'll damage some vital clue rather than being helpful?"

Hammer Sister

"There's always a risk of damaging clues; it's one of the less satisfying aspects of my job. But based on the evidence so far, I think that you'd be an asset; if you weren't with me when we interviewed Harrisberg, I doubt I would have gotten as much out of him as you did. Plus it's always useful to have a second pair of eyes around, just in case."

And then the murders began.
