Julie: if you want to draw power from them yeah you need to be at a crossing, and the more energy you want the more central a crossing you need.... but to influence the network, to say search for something you only need to be able to access one of the lines themselves. and since they are practically everywhere, although very few of them are very powerful, you can do a searching, if you know how, from just about anywhere.

Julie looks a little uncomfortable as she talks, blurting out a moment later

Julie: of course in order to do that you need to be able to access the leylines, and that is beyond my skill in either form.

yamikuronue

"Is this an innate ability people have or something that can be learned?" asks Siegfried, quietly.

accalia

Julie: being able to sense them can be a innate talent, but most people can learn to sense and manipulate them even if they don't have that innate talent. For some reason it seems to beyond the ability of most werewolves. I can sense them, vaguely, but that's about it, and they have to be pretty powerful before i can sense them. I think it's something to do with having two minds in this skull of mine.

yamikuronue

"I have some experience with sensing things outside my body... perhaps I could sense these lines the way I do-- oh, or perhaps I could find some way to expand my range at which I can sense the Young Master's mind."

accalia

Julie: if your ability works by interacting with leylines, i see no reason why that couldn't work. of course as with any out of body experience there is considerable danger from beyond the veil. It's not wise to leave a body uninhabited.

yamikuronue

"It doesn't, as far as I know, but I have an innate sort of.... feel for minds, and I can and have used it to reach out to the Young Master to determine what he's thinking. I know his... scent, almost, I guess you could say. I have never tested the range on that ability but if someone wishes to take over driving, it could be worth a shot..."

accalia

Julie: sounds like it's worth a shot. I'm in the wrong form at the moment, Obsidian, you up for driving?

CalamityJade

"Hell, it's as good a plan as any. Pull over and I'll drive." And then I'll ask how long you've been able to DO that sort of thing. Though if he could read minds, he probably would have tried to stop Lance, so there was little fear of that.

yamikuronue

Siegfried pulls the car over, feeling a bit guilty that he didn't scan Lance and figure out what he was doing.. but then, invasions of privacy are bad, right?

As he switches seats with Obsidian, he reaches out a bit, getting a feel for the two passengers in the vehicle's minds so he can safely ignore them. "I'm really not at all sure of my range..." he says again, closing his eyes. "I've never tried to reach out intentionally when I can't see the person. Any tips?"

accalia

Julie: Picture me shrugging. mental things has never been my speciality. If Ms. Schreien was here i'm sure she'd have something relevant to say...

CalamityJade

Obsidian starts driving as Siegfried gets himself into his seat. "I dunno, try to think about Lance? I'm sure he'll be in the direction of the largest headache."

yamikuronue

Siegfried's lips twitch into a smile as he lays his head against the seat, trying to relax and sort of... drift.

accalia

Conversation over Julie sticks her head back out the window and enjoys the wind.

CalamityJade

Obsidian concentrates on driving...well, and what they were going to do once they found Lance, but mostly driving.

yamikuronue

Siegfried closes his eyes, reaching out. If Obsidian is there, and Julie is there... briefly, he grazes past a few more minds, out in the buildings they're passing. None of them feel famliar, so he brushes past them and moves on, his touch light as a butterfly's wings. Not here, or here... he feels his body anchoring him in place and lets it go, stretching outward as his body slumps, his face slack.
