The Family [Finished]

[yamikuronue]

Vic glares at him. "For all I know, someone looking for me with a gun. Am I supposed to be here?"

[accalia]

"It's your home, so i'd say you're supposed to be here." Tony sighs as another knock rings through the house "It's probably Kate, let her in will you?"

[yamikuronue]

Vic makes a face, but goes to open the door -- first a crack, then all the way as he verifies that it is, indeed, Kate and not a mobster come to shoot him in the face.

"Hey kid, I thought you were leaving town?"

"I was. But I didn't."  Vic steps aside to let the woman in.

[accalia]

Tony groans as he rolls into a sitting position. "So, was i right about who it was at the door?"

[yamikuronue]

"That depends -- did you expect me?" asks Kate, as she steps into the living room, Vic shutting the door behind her.

"Jesus," she says, looking him over. "You really are sick." She hefts the plastic bag she carries in one hand. "I brought over your favorites: soup and paperwork."

[accalia]

"Kate! what a pleasure to see you and your paperwork! I'd run out of kindling so it's perfectly well timed!" Tony greets Kate as best he can as he tries and fails to stand. "And soup? they were out of steak?"

It seems Tony's a lot less formal with Kate when they're not in the office. He does manage to stand on the second try and stumbles into the kitchen.

"They told me you had the flu," she says, wryly. "It's minestrone, from Antonio's."

[accalia]

"Flu? Huh. Well I wouldn't count a belly full of lead 'the Flu' but... Well have a seat at least, if you're going to go out of your way to check up on me the least i can do is offer you a meal. I think we have some soup i can offer.... it's probably Minestrone, the good stuff, from Antonio's."

[yamikuronue]

Kate rolls her eyes. "Only you," she remarks as she has a seat. "I hope you're taking it easy?"

Vic smiles a little, leaning against the wall behind Kate.

[accalia]

Tony shrugs at that "You know me, I'm running a marathon tonight."

[yamikuronue]

"I do know you. That's why I brought paperwork. It'll put you right to sleep." She grins at him.

[accalia]

"Have Vic do it then." Tony wheedles "He does it usually anyway and I've been shot!"

Okay, yeah Tony's supposed to do the paperwork, and he'd get in a lot of trouble if anyone reported that he has Vic do it instead.... but at least Vic's good, and his handwriting's better than Tony's.

[yamikuronue]

Kate tut's him, the sound surprisingly loud for being little more than breath against teeth. "Now now. That wouldn't be fair to Vic. I'm already letting you get away with not filling out an incident report for your unusually-metallic illness."

[accalia]

"Fair or not the way I see it, you can either torture me with papercuts, or we can have Vic do the paperwork and have the result actually be legible. You know how bad my writing is."

"Or you could have Vic transcribe for you."
