Experimental.... what is she getting at? tony asks as he levers himself out of the car, he's mobile on his own now, but still fairly stiff. Still if Kate wants to be vague it is her right, heaven knows tony's being more vague than he should with Kate....

The wedding is nice, if a bit traditional. Most of the attendants are wearing more traditional outfits, though Kate's not the only flapper; still, she gets a few turned-up noses from some of the relatives of the bride and groom. The reception takes place in the adjoining meeting hall, where Kate is swept away from her date by a hoarde of shrieking bridesmaids who exclaim how "WONDERFUL!" it is to see her and how "It has been FAR too LONG!" at the top of their lungs. Kate grins and bears it, making the rounds and congratulating the bride before she returns to Tony's side.

"D'ya know what I miss?" she asks, casually, not bothering to wait for an answer. "Champagne. Time was, these things would come with plentiful champagne."

"Well, if it's champagne' Tony pronounces it sham-pag-ne, and it's plain he's teasing as Kate heard him pronounce it right not ten minutes ago "you want, then I guess as your escort I must provide. I know a place that will supply us with all that you want, for a nominal fee of course."

[yamikuronue]

"Do you," she asks, sounding intrigued. "How soon do you think I can leave?"

[accalia]

"Hmm.... well the bride is about to throw the bouquet, and guessing by how she's looking at the groom they'll disappear to consummate their vows and start the honeymoon more or less immediately after that. Go ahead and try to catch the bouquet, or play at it at least, and you should be able to sneak off after that. I'll nip outside with the excuse that the line for the gents is too long and start the car warming up." Tony offers, a proper gentleman in all respects.

Kate grins at him. "You're a real peach, Tony," she says, just as they start calling out for women to come to the dance floor for the bouquet. She plants a kiss on his cheek before slipping off into the crowd.

Tony blushes to his roots as he slips out to start Kate's car.... Hopefully she won't be mad at him for lifting her keys from her purse. He'd only done that because she had had a couple of drinks and he is a cop.....

A few moments later, she comes barrelling out of the side door, laughing hysterically as she stumbles toward the waiting car. In her hand she holds...

is that the bouquet...?

She pulls open the passenger door, tossing the bouquet neatly into his lap. "Souvenir for you," she laughs, out of breath.

Tony raises his eyebrow as he waits for Kate to buckle up.

"So.... Who's going to be the lucky man then?"

[yamikuronue]

"We'll find out, won't we?" she teases, pulling the door shut and buckling her seatbelt.

[accalia]

"I see... I do apologize for my driving, but i'm quaking in my boots here" Tony teases right back.

[yamikuronue]

"Worried you won't make the cut?" she teases.

[accalia]

"Not quite, but you got most of the words right." Tony comments dryly as he eases out into traffic.

[yamikuronue]

"So what is with your non-marriage vows anyway? Trying to appease a father?"

[accalia]

Tony laughs "Please my father?! I'd rather punch him in the face."
