The Family [Finished]

"You've got to learn some time." Tony asserts firmly 'And it would be nice to have you able to drive as well as me. Tony looks at the time before continuing "But we're out of time for your lesson today. We'll pick this up tomorrow, but for now swap with me and we're going to get some dinner before seeing what the boss has got his panties in a twist."

Vic nods. "Alright then."

The Boss's house is, as expected, a stately manor in the upper side of town; it's surrounded by a fence, but the gate guard seems to be expecting them, and lets them in. They make their way up the long drive toward the house, parking in the carport and making their way to the house.

The pair are let into the home by a butler, who shows them to the breakfast nook where Giovanni is reading the morning paper, having just finished breakfast. Vic stands, not taking a seat since he's yet to be invited; Giovanni seems intent on finishing his article before he greets them.

Tony on the other hand sits straight away, not waiting to be invited to do so explicitly. "Good morning, what's up with the big cheese today?"

Vic pales, horrified. Giovanni lowers his paper, seeming to see them for the first time. "I believe I only sent for one of you," he rebukes, mildly.

"You sent for one, and got two. That's good value for money if you ask me." Tony replies snarkily.

[yamikuronue]

"Depends. If I called for a good apple and received a rotten one as well, it does no-one any good."

[accalia]

Tony shrugs "A bad apple am I? And me always getting the job done on time and with no complaint. I'll admit to being a bit hotheaded, and some of your bodyguards and I are on bad terms (i still owe one of them a broken jaw at some point) but I don't think that makes me a bad apple."

[yamikuronue]

"Then do not cause trouble where you are not invited to do so," he rebukes. "Hold your tongue and do not interfere in what does not concern you, and I will remember your service record more than your outbursts."

[accalia]

Tony shrugs, and stays silent, looking at Vic. Apparently this is his game now.

[yamikuronue]

Vic takes a step forward, giving a clumsy bow. Giovanni looks him over, then nods.

"Now that I am aware of your gender, unfortunately, I cannot continue to employ you as I have been. However!" he says, cutting of Vic's reply with an uplifted hand. "I have another mission in mind for you, little miss. I will of course pay you the same as I have been if you undertake this mission."

Tony bristles at that comment, visibly growing quite angry, but restraining himself from acting on the rage.

Vic gives a nod. "What's the mission, boss?" he asks, softly.

"I was hoping to use you as a covert guard for my daughter, disguised as one of her friends," he confesses, "but another, more pressing need has come up. Captain White is causing trouble for me, and he seems to be preparing to make a bid for mayor. We need to discredit him, and I suspect you can accomplish that."

[accalia]

tony raises his eyebrows at that. he still needs to have words with Giovanni about the whole girl thing, but.... huh that's... oh shit.... not Captain White.... That man is an asshole of the highest caliber.

[yamikuronue]

Vic hesitates. "What would I have to do?"

"The idea is to get close to him. I can arrange a chance meeting; from there, you'll attempt to wiggle your way into his confidence however you can manage it. Ideally, you would become his girlfriend, giving you access to his personal files and allowing me to place or report anything we can find to discredit him and destroy his chances at becoming mayor."

[accalia]

And now we're back to the glare from Tony. If Giovanni can't think of a person in terms other than what swings or does not swing  between their legs then it's Tony's duty to grind Giovanni's face into the ground until he changes his mind.

There's a perceptible aura of menace developing around Tony. He's not acting on it, but it's clearly detectable bu Giovanni's guards that Tony is royally pissed at the offering.
